Haha. We’ve kept clean sheets against the sides in 24th, 22nd and 17th and it’s gotta be said that last night was one of the spawniest ones I’ve ever seen. Piss poor finishing, some very good goalkeeping, and yes a smattering of good defending, though why we dropped off so much against an obviously poor, low on confidence team is anyone’s guess.

Going to Morecambe and Carlisle and getting 4 points is never to be sniffed at no matter how shit they are, I think the last 30 mins last night proved we’re maybe a way off being contenders. Saturday will obviously tell us more.

You were obviously a class side attacking last season but well, less so defensively which seems to be the case so far this season….. so is it genuine currently or?

Now you can get sides who get lucky early un in the season all round with fixtures etc (we’re very much in that boat currently in our league) or are genuine, you could be the next stockport who got promoted their 2nd season.

What’s the early thoughts? would love to reserrect the nottinghamshire derby not in league 2 next season!

Absolute shambles mate I didn't see that coming a defensive collapse of the highest order that was. First half was okish second half everytime a cross went in our previously solid defence and keeper turned into count dracula terrible defending for all of the goals you looked a good side but I wasn't expecting that lol
Very fair with your comments, I think it's a one off for both of our sides in obviously completely different ways. What's the betting you bounce back at the weekend and we lose at home to Bromley.

I genuinely don’t know. We have a proper keeper at long last and 2 good defenders (very good in Bedeau’s case) which we obviously didn’t have last season. We’ve so far been reliant on 4 players for everything going forward really, but some signs that others are starting to chip in.

Like you we’ve had kind fixtures very reminiscent of the start of last season. October looks much tougher, hopefully it goes better than last season…

My Stags mate was telling me you were a bit lucky against Crawley, though he is a bit dour at the best of times to be fair.

Decent point last night. Really good to see Grigg back on scoresheet scoring the most Will Grigg goals ever. Shame he didn’t get the hat tric

Always liked Grigg when he was with us. Even when not scoring he was a good team player. We could do with him now with our lack of firepower.

That side of his game is what I love most, & it’s probably an under appreciated side of his game for people that don’t watch him week in week out. Before we signed him, I just thought he was a box player not interested in doing anything else outside of it. Whilst the first bit is true in that he is very much a box player when it comes to scoring goals, the second bit couldn’t be further from the truth as his work rate is second to none up there.. runs himself into the ground every game for us. His hold up play and link up is very good too, and he’s done a brilliant job up there since he signed for us.

Nah we weren’t lucky at all against Crawley, it was a thoroughly deserved victory.

We are once again riddled with injuries, and the last 4 games which we’ve all won have included teams you’ll expect to be near the bottom but we’ve won them all, got to get the points board while you can. Our run in over December and the new year is horrible so we will have some tough spells, but we will be fine.

I’m not sure Maynard saying you’ve got the best keeper by a mile is correct, but you have clearly improved in that department and that alone will gain you more points

I don't know and haven't seen the other League Two goalkeepers well enough. Last season he was one of the best at Wimbledon. After his performance at Carlisle I'm not surprised Part Time Stu said he's the best. He's in the mix

At 26 he's a very good age to be a No.1 , looks a top signing.

He’s such a team player! Obviously his goals are great but I love his positioning, movement & awareness too. He links play brilliantly and even gets back to defend too. Took me a few games to appreciate him when he arrived but honestly he’s probably in my top 2 fave town players ever behind Jack Lester.
