Mansfield winning 3-0, in fairness we’ve looked pretty good.

How wank are scunthorpe, we’ve done the double over them
The fact there are teams below us is remarkable

Tell you what...we hung on big time second half. Majority of Carlisle's chances were from set pieces but we got awaty with the second half after an excellent first half.
Could probably have got something from that had we been in better physical shape. Bolton were good, but no better than the level we were at first half of the season.

we did what we had to do today - erm we matched Southend and Grimsby's results to keep away from them.....

I hear that the ref at Orient tonight had a really good game, can anybody confirm?
I'd be absolutely livid if we were 3rd and the result really mattered for us.
As it stands I'm only mildly furious.
Right result tonight, I just hate shit refs.

Annoying that the second half was settled from our perspective on a set play, an iffy penalty and probably one of the worst mistakes you could ever see a player make. At 3-2 we had a sniff of something still as the second half was poised nicely. But a lesson for our young side on what it takes to achieve success in this league.

Burtons save from Johnson early on was for me a huge point in the game, if we take that chance from Cambridges mistake and take the lead I think we get something from the game.

First half you can see why Cambridge will go up, move the ball quickly with slick interchange - Compared to ourselves who tend to overplay it at the back and get nowhere with our movement, so we end up going backwards. They play the dark arts quite well as well Cambridge, subtly going down at every chance they got and rolling around alot - which is probably one of the reasons why they've had so many penalties this season. Mark Bonner is an articulate well spoken guy, so these little things in their game won't get picked up as easily.

Ref was a bit of a dopey fucker, Johnson probably should have been sent off for us, the penalty was against us was iffy but Turley doesn't need to wrestle with someone like that away from the 6 yard box, but to not give us a pen at the end looked totally wrong, even though had we scored it wouldn't have mattered.

Good game though, nice to see a side come up against us and have a go. Too many times this season we've had a few too many dull games at home with no fans as away sides come to us and just sit back and we're not too great at opening sides up.

Cambridge will need to invest in a few centre halfs and a goalkeeper for next season in League One to try and steer clear of the bottom because we did cause them a fair few problems I thought.

Ref has missed the pen for Orient but our pen was a stonewall one too. Your man was the wrong side of Taylor and was all over him. Also Johnson was lucky not to be sent off with two elbows.

A really good end to end game but I thought we were superb on the night and deserved the 3 points.

In our last 2 games we have had 45 shots.
And scored twice.
And that’s why we’re going down.

Big, Big game Saturday The winners will more or less get that third promotion spot.
The losers i fancy to win the lottery of the play offs.
We lost John with another Hamstring......That might be the last time we see him in a Wanderers shirt

I think he got our pen right and yours wrong. 100% a pen. We sold our center back to MK Dons in Jan and our no.1 is out for the season but you're right, we really do need to strengthen in those areas next season no matter what league we are in.

That was the same sort of performance as we (didn't) put in against Oldham. I could write a ten thousand word essay on how crap that was.

First things first. That ref was awful. Truly awful. He was winding up both sets of players all night. Obvious fouls not being given and strange decisions on what way throw ons and corners were going. About the only thing he got right all night was the red card. Some of our player's disputed it but straight red all day long. Led with an elbow straight in the defenders face.

Yems put a strange team out tonight. For all his good points having Tony Craig play as a left back is asking for trouble. Especially with James Tilley in front of him (no help there). We had a left back on the bench as well. Only going with ten players (and Wright) was strange but Yems seems to love him. Only having Rodri on the bench as a striker. He was playing the step below conference south before Xmas.

Well played Newport. You can only beat what turns up and you did that comfortably tonight.

FGR better in first half - Exeter better in 2nd half.
Twice FGR hit the woodwork and Exeter force goalkeeper to make a better than excellent save.
Plenty of hoofball with the ball in the air more than is usual at TNL.
Both teams drop two points against their rivals but both still in contention for a place in play offs.

It's like I said earlier today that we struggle against the physical sides and from set pieces. The vast majority of your threat was from set pieces. You've definitely lost that edge from open play from the first half of the season. We were quality first half but we looked tired and very nervy second half. Morecambe is our cup final now.

Gilks was limping too. Think it may be the debutant on Saturday which won't help. We might see that Jackson lad if Declan John is injured. Didn't think he looked too bad in the few games he played. Sarcevic back on Saturday though which is massive. We looked really tired second half.

Think for once our substitutions went against us, we lost our shape. Evatt took our best two players on the night Dapo and Isgrove off, to be fair they had run themselves into the ground.
Losing John is a big blow but Brocky is a good replacement.
Sarcevic back Saturday for Morecambe............shit or bust

Win on Saturday and we are promoted. Unless Morecambe or Bolton win 15-0.

Yep we could have done with that cushion by beating Grimsby but I think Morecambe will be nervous as well. We can probably get away with a draw. Win it and we are almost guaranteed promotion. Shit or bust pretty much sums it up haha

This staying in contention lark is starting to annoy me. We have been 8th for the last month! Keep thinking the last chance saloon is coming, but we string it out like a wet fart.

Finally a win. Hopefully that can give us confidence going into the final 3. Need a win against Barrow and a draw in the Morecambe/Bolton game to keep any automatic chances alive but at least we’re probably only one win away from securing a playoff place.
Both Barrow and Colchester are effectively safe now, so we should have no problem making the play offs given they are two of our final three opponents.

If Bolton and Morecambe draw on Saturday, it could get interesting.

Ah yes Darling went to MK Dons and Cundy also ended up at Gillingham on loan, should you get some experienced League One Centre halfs in next year at least I don't see any reason why you shouldn't first and foremost stay up.

Bonner will be in demand at some point though, he's got this modern day philosophy about the way you play which alot of the bigger clubs like to take chances on.

Bonner is going places, no two ways about it. I didn't want him at the start of the season because I thought it was the cheap option but he has done a fantastic job and with him in charge I am confident we'll stay up (as long as we get the job done).

Good to end our miserable run, even in the most fortuitous of circumstances. Neither team registered a shot on target, the difference being our defence was better than Bradfords.
Must win game on Saturday against Barrow, even if it’s only to wrap our key player’s up in cotton wool for the play offs.
