Seeing Bradford and Hartlepool fans call their squads shit while they both sit 10 points ahead of us is very sad

It's absolute pish, the first eleven isn't even a great standard, some have really struggled to make the step up this season, like John said, penny for Raj's thoughts withholding a chunk of the budget leaving DC having to pick up absolute shite like Fondop, Cook, Fela, Smith, Lawlor, these lads would struggle in the league below.
Yep absolutely, apparently it's 200 or 300k he withheld. What's that then? About the wages of 3 or even 4 proven EFL players?

The reserves are total mince but I'd give Crawford another look. Thought he had a decent game and on Saturday as well.

More than you will be coming home with tonight. Pitman had a winner ruled offside when it was clearly onside..

God that was frustrating. I don't think Salford could have complained if we won the 3/4-0 tbh.

I thought their first red was really harsh, only a yellow IMO. But the 2nd is a clear red.

What we were doing to invite them onto us for their equaliser, and first shot on target, I will never know. Then the winner is clearly onside too in the 99th minute - sickening.

We all have those games, it’s one of those where you had to laugh (or bang your head against the wall)

Looks a great following for a tuesday night

Adams can fuck off. Bowyer was sacked for performances like this and its somehow getting worse every week.

Well that was shit. We probably were as dominant in the game as I've seen us this season, however we had just two minor flaws. One, whenever they went on the attack they scored. Two whenever we went on the attack we did nothing with it.

I fear Millen isn't going to be able to change any of this until January

Dreadful performance. Not a single player comes out of that with any credit. Tranmere deserved their win and they never got out of third gear in the second half. Don't think we actually had an effort at goal in the second half.

I'll be back when Adams has been sacked. Cheerio.
We were a bit poor 1st half.

This might be controversial but i would like us to start without Spearing in the team because i think he slows the play down far too often. Several times this season we have had a chance of a counter attack and he has gone sideways or back with a pass when a forward pass would have been the right one. He contributes to our negative approach more than a positive one. Its frustrating at best.
Smug face.

Agree with you there, it's better to laugh it off and move on tbh. We've been on both ends of stupid come backs, that's why we love the game right?

We have to finish these teams off. Impressed with our football for much of the game then they score with pretty much their only real chance. At least we putting an unbeaten run together but def 4 points lost from the last 2.

What on earth was that? Fucking shocking in every department.

Walsall were everything we weren’t. Big, powerful, smart, determined, up for a battle, combative.

Every time we have to have a battle we crumble. Every biggish game we crumble.

We are down. This squad is shite, way worse than I originally thought.

There’s no way anyone can get anything from this group of players.

We played some excellent stuff first half and should have been more than 2 up. Went off the boil a bit second half and invited Oldham on and it all got a bit scrappy.
However it’s nice to get the win and correct ourselves a bit. 3rd in the form table at the minute but it doesn’t feel like we’re playing that way.

I despite Salford more and more each week. They have had so many referee decisions go their way. Fucking despicable cockroach of a club.

O'Connor played well tonight, but I still thought we missed Spearing, in the first half in particular. Bradford walked through our midfield for their goal.

Great second half performance though, and we should have won by a bigger margin. We look a much better side with two up front, and Hawkes and Morris in the team. Glatzel could be a star for us this season. Another man of the match performance from him.

Frustrating again away from home, had more than enough chances to win that. That’s at least the third game away from home this season we’ve not been ruthless enough to kill teams off.

Scunthorpe I thought had very little up front, but we conceded from a set play and even gave them a chance to nick it as well. Thought they showed some fight in the second half to earn a draw, but Hill will need to be allowed to bring players in I’d have thought.

Agreed. My worry is here that lose to FGR away on Saturday (assuming we will) and suddenly we've picked up 2 points in 3 games which on paper is awful form despite throwing away 4 of those points.

I have to admit, I did get a tad annoyed when the 1100 home fans in a crowd of 1800 sung "you're not singing anymore" as their first song in the 95th minute of the game. Bastards

Enjoyed that game. Both defences were dodgy all night. Hartlepool had enough chances to get something. Fair play to the 75 who made the journey down. Thought their goal in the first half looked onside but apparently it was off. Lino waited until the Pools players were celebrating to raise the flag. Very weird.

Feels nice to win a home game. Williams showed his class in the second half. Simpson woke up and was brilliant leading the line as well. Still need to be better at home but hopefully we have now turned that corner.

Well the first half Crawley decided to stand and watch Newport pass the ball around and very dull it was too. If Newport could shoot straight they would have been out of sight...shot from the six yard box went out for a throw for instance.

Second half Crawley gave it a go and looked the better team scored a decent goal from a free kick crossed into the box though Newport will ask where the marking was. We then got a bit unlucky with an injury to Ferry with no left footer to replace him ... guess where the equaliser came from? We could have won it when Appiah with a lovely bit of skill chested the ball down and lifted it over the keeper only for the ball to hit the bar and come straight back into the keepers hands.

Feels like a loss after Newport scored so late but at the end of the first half I'd bitten your hand off for a draw.

Hard game to ref. Both teams throwing themselves around and some dodgy tackles going in but although he made mistakes the ref tried to keep it going.

Outfought for half an hour and then outmuscled for the rest. From minute 1 we didn't come out with any intensity or fight. I was going to say I didn't see it coming but in hindsight it has been coming in the last 2 to 3 games.

Walsall scored and then spent the rest of the game pulling, pushing and being physical. The ref also stopped the game far too often which stopped any rhythm. I'd be amazed if there was more than 10 minutes of actual football. Walsall played anti football but it worked against our small team. The breaking up play, going down, taking an age over substitution was the perfect away performance.

I can't remember any chances from either side apart from the goal. It was just a complete mess. We looked rudderless and we desperately missed a focal point up front. It's also clear why Clarke hasn't been playing Politic, he just hasn't got the discipline to play as part of a team.

I knew things were going too well. I knew we'd blow it. We've got a hellish December and I can see us going on a bit of a poor run now. We've lost momentum and teams have worked us out.

We had 14 attempts and 7 on target in one game. O'Connor was more positive. Their goal was helped by a big gap in defence not poor midfield play.

1048 home fans. Clearly it was too far for locals to travel after the Man Utd game finished.

There was a lack of protection from midfield for the goal, and it was Hawkes and Morris who were creating rather than O'Connor.

We will have to agree to disagree.

Just got back in and listened to DC interview and feel a bit better than it’s not the usual Askey “it’s ok” crap. He’s absolutely furious and cancelled their day off tomorrow and rightly so. Saturday is must win now and they need a huge reaction after tonight.

I don’t mind being beaten by quality or even bad luck but to be beat because we didn’t want to battle is inexcusable. It reminded me of their win at VP a couple of seasons ago when neither side created a single thing bar the one chance they got and took (even down to the Conlon red card).

Tonight is very very worrying for a couple of reasons. Three games we’ve been bullied by sides that don’t have the quality we have but have shown if your physical and break up play you can find our weakness.

Walsall were dire but we were worse, feels like a waste of a few hours. Loads of long ball… again we got dragged down to that but barely kept in on the pitch. Never got our football going, never put any pressure on and even players who are usually reliable like Pett, Conlon and Gibbons were dire tonight.

Said before the game don’t get dragged into their circus over it and unfortunately we did.

As mentioned it’s got that typical Vale mid season slump about this where we hit relegation form for a few months… live nervously over winter before hit peak Brazil when it’s too late in March. Just like last season!

Didn’t see that coming tonight in terms of lack of effort and quality on the ball. A huge rocket and response Saturday or the season is over.

Let’s hope getting dragged in tomorrow works.

Couple of hours after and am still at an absolute loss as to what that was we saw tonight. Dan Jones will no doubt come again at some point but for me he’s played himself out the team after that. He was far from the only one mind.

Oldham was easy to forgive as that was a bit of a fortuitous win for them but tonight that was shocking. With Conlon suspended I’m minded to look at bringing in both Walker and Taylor for Hartlepool.
