Heartbreaking result tonight, possession wise there was only one team in it but Fleetwood clawed their way back into it and looked ok for a draw at worst. Then a moment of madness as Batty was caught straight from ko and Gregory completed an excellent hat trick
All down to final match eh so comon you Miller's and put Gills to the sword. Nothing personal PubB, it's business !

Any votes for the TV games? Plymouth v us and Gills v Rotherham would be the obvious choices, but they usually go with the team that can win the league, so that’ll be Shrews v Wigan, and knowing Sky they’ll chase the viewing figures and stick Sunderland or Wednesday‘s game on?
They can keep us off tv thanks, we might actually win

And may the best team win!

It’ll be our own ineptness that sends us down in the end. Nothing to do with anyone else. A possible 41 to stay up is staggering, but it shows the difference between the top challengers and those fighting at the other end.

Having said that, Sheffield Wednesday, you sexy beasts toyed with my heart. But in the end you did what was right. Thank you.

Weak, spineless bottlejobs. At least if we were to complete the biggest collapse in League One history it would mean we don’t stink up the Championship next season and drop straight back down in 24th place.

I might even buy a day pass from sky if we are on TV as I can't get to Plymouth. I know I'll regret it when we are stuffed but I shall have some liquid anasthestic at hand. :gr:

The players need to be mentally tougher, 2 up and cruising, Portsmouth having 0 shots on target in the first 61 minutes and a comfortable 3 points and title heading our way, a horrific officiating error to give a goal, even several Portsmouth players stop, along with ours waiting for the free kick. Players still arguing with officials and one player stands on the ball and within 2 minutes, 2 goals from nowhere and then panic stations in a game we were cruising in. No doubt if the referee does his job then it remains 2-0 maybe the whole game, as the second comes about straight away off the back of the big error, but the players heads cant just go and lose composure like that, most of our yellow cards have come about arguing with refereeing errors. They are frustrating but arguing and losing your head just affects what happens on the pitch. 5 points thrown away in the last two games with big refereeing mistakes, which would have comfortably seen us win the league.

If the players remained calm after such incidents and kept composure, channeling their aggression into trying to get a goal again straight away, we would have been up weeks ago.
I've just re-watched the incident for the first goal. I think "horrific" is a bit much. Sure, it could have been given but both ref and linesman had a good view and decided it was 50/50. I think it's one of those where the defender is looking for a foul and probably gets it the majority of the time.

2-0 was a pretty misleading scoreline at half time. Neither team created much but you were clinical with your two chances. Once we got back to 2-2 there was only one winner and it was just a question of whether or not Wigan could run out the clock with the usual time-wasting antics. Just to be clear, we'd be doing exactly the same in your position.

Very pleased that our players had it in them for a fightback. It was purely pride and not wanting to have another team celebrate promotion at our ground. A nice way to finish the season at Fratton after an up-and-down season.

P.s. congrats on your inevitable promotion and likely title this weekend. The table doesn't lie.

On the train back up to London now, still steaming. Useless bastards. Forget the league, this lot don’t have it in them to beat Shrewsbury unless we can start McClean on one leg.

I know all football fans tend to overreact to both good and particularly bad results, but Fans of every other Club in league 1 (bar maybe Bolton ) would gladly trade places with you.
Even a defeat on Saturday should still see you Promoted and though winning the league would be nice, (and you may well still do) you'll still have had a successful season and will be playing Championship football next season (staying there might be more difficult)
I'd just sit back, look at the whole season and enjoy it pal.

As for us, like all fans involved with things at either end of the table, I'll be going hoping for the best but dreading the worst, hopefully we'll be doing the double over you again next season in the Championship.

I hope you don't go up. Don't take that personally, I'm just searching for three teams we can finish above next season and I don't think you'll be one of them. I want any combination of Rotherham, Plymouth and Wycombe up. Possibly MK although I do really rate Liam Manning and they were better than us over the two games we've played this season. I'd fancy them to surprise a few in the Championship.
