I've just consulted the archives and the last time Barrow and Grimsby played each other on a Saturday was 1736. Full set of fixtures:

Wimbledon v Crewe
Barrow v Grimsby
Bradford v Swindon
Colchester v Crawley
Doncaster v Stevenage
Hartlepool v Salford
Leyton Orient v Gillingham
Mansfield v Newport
Northampton v Sutton
Stockport v Carlisle
Tranmere v Rochdale
Walsall v Harrogate

First of two home games on the spin. I'd take a point Tuesday given Grimsby's tremendous away record and they've been impressive in the highlights I've seen of them so far. If we could back that up with a win v Crewe on Saturday, things will be looking pretty good again.

Home banker for Northampton you’d think. Should be very comfortable.

Think Swindon will beat us. Teams have completely sussed us out at home. High press and have two on Cook. Even teams with very little quality like Stockport came to Valley Parade and pulled it off, and Swindon are a far, far better side. I'll be a bit more positive if we can get Banks back for this game as Perriera has been very poor since his return.

2-1 Swindon.

Well this game is the last thing we need.

We have two available forwards, but one only fit enough to do maybe 15-20 minutes at best.

I think Saturdays efforts playing a man down for over an hour will take its toll and we’ll be jaded and knackered. We don’t really have the options to rotate due to injuries, suspensions and not having a pot to piss in.

Stockport have picked up their form a bit, so with everything in mind I can only see one realistic outcome and that’s a comfortable Stockport win.

Stockport County 3-0 Carlisle United.

Swindon sound like a carbon copy of us going off comments on here, lots of ball but lack a cutting edge.

We’re becoming draw specialists at home so predicting a drab 0-0.

Don't think a point is a bad result if we can follow it up by beating Crawley on Saturday.

Make or break for us this week, two home games, while Dale & the Gills have two away
If we don’t get at least 3 points,we might as well give up now.

I'm making the journey up to Essex in hope of a 4th straight win in all comps, fancy our chances against one of the poorer sides in this division.

Gillingham at home. They are absolute wank, but then again so were Newport. Sure they’ll bring a few up and The Cat is bound to have a great game. I’ll go for another arse-clenching one goal win. 2-1 O’s.

Think we’d sold about 6-700 when the club updated us on Thursday so should be a fair few Gills. I’m still mightily pissed off this is on a Tuesday as it’s one of my favourite aways and I can’t make it. Anyway, we’re going to get tonked.

I see Smith has ended his loan at Exeter, fancy letting us have him?

Stevenage at home, fatty in the stands eating all the pies as he serves a suspension for the red he got yesterday. There was some semblance of a formation and plan at Crewe but our midfield is woefully slow putting us under constant pressure. Stevenage appear to be a physical side, got properly bullied by Hartlepool yet beat Sutton. One win, one loss so probably a draw.

Home to Rochdale. Game we should be winning if serious about making the play-offs or better. Bentley’s sides are difficult to beat and Rovers looked a bit jaded at Harrogate, some in particular. However MM doesn’t seem to believe he has much option outside the starting xi, so injuries permitting an unchanged team.

Also going to Colchester. Not as sure as others though.

No Appiah for them which helps but Nouble seems to like playing against us. Oteh has to be a doubt after the Mansfield player tried to break his ankle and some of the others put a lot in on Saturday.

Sneak a point an I'll be a happy bunny. Win! Bunny hopping about.

we have Grimsby (H), Crewe (H) followed by Colchester (H) a week on Tuesday then Mansfield (H) (FA Cup) in the space of 12 days

Sutton at home. We’re good at home, they’re not great away so hopefully we can pick up the 3 points. Righted the ship a bit with a good win at Stevenage so hopefully can now kick on again. Even with a little stumble we‘re still in the top 3 so a good run of form now would be very timely.

Need 6 points and progress in the cup otherwise the season's a write-off.

We were garbage on Saturday against a horribly negative and prone to fall over if a leaf fell off a tree 30 miles away Wimbledon team. We obviously missed our entire first choice strike force... one recently injured, one recovering from a long term injury and one sold by the Board against the Managers wishes , or so he says.

Everything points to a comfortable Tranmere win, but JB has us set up much better away than at home, so might be harder than they think?

3-0 Rovers sadly.

Just seen Swindon’s WLWLWLWL… form, having won on Saturday we are one billion percent the team that is made to change such things meaning we at best won’t win.

2 of those was the winky wanky cup.

I’d be delighted to get a point. We were beyond abysmal at Stevenage last away game. If you’re a muscle bound team - which I doubt - you’ll win with ease. If you’re anything like us - which I think you are - it could be a boring 90 minute 0-0.

Stockport County.
Carlisle and Paul Simpson. Always does well up there but not well thought of here after his role in our 10-11 relegation season to the NL. Highlight was him getting his feet under the table, he and his trusted scout going to watch this lad called Jamie Vardy with the deal all but lined up and deeming him not good enough. Cheers Paul.

Can't predict us, can't predict our team, can't predict our formation, can't predict the score. Can predict it won't be a classic.

It’s all gone a bit flat recently. Lacking creativity - Cook isolated.

Chapman is wasted at CAM. Pereira creates absolutely nothing. Wright has been off it since he returned from International duty.

Desperately need Jamie Walker, Scott Banks and Abo Eisa back from injury.

We seem to have an OK record at home to Swindon. Long way for them to travel midweek - I’m predicting a close 1-0 win.

Cook - who else!

You may get Smith in January, but it depends on how badly he wants to move because if he stays here he will be an off the bench impact player and not a certain starter.

As for the game, I’d imagine we’ll rotate one or two given the recent schedule - Paul Smyth pulled out of the game Saturday which was a big blow as he’s our best attacking player.

With so many games recently and fatigue for some players and squad rotation being implemented Gillingham have a chance of getting something.

We’re a good team, but we need to cut the laziness out of our game. We tend to concentrate better with the game on a knife edge.

My solace is that out of Cook’s 10 goals only 3 have been at home!

I can see Reed returning for his one. Best CDM in L2 last season - desperately short of that sort of form this. Replacing Darcy I reckon

I’d hope our goalie and defence have been warned they are at risk of being dropped after Saturday…….that area has no excuse for poor performance there are other options.

Did wonder why we had three home league games in a row but then remembered the sad passing of a special someone. Five points is the minimum really if we want the season to be somewhat exciting going into next year.

That last line I guess is a half jokey comment but it’s a really good point to mention our over reliance on Cook’s goals as no one else has come close to chipping in with their share.
