Grimsby fans forum accepting we were the better side and saying their team put in the worst performance of the season.... every team we have beaten this season has said they played their worst game??
Grimsby fans thought our side were soft and falling all over the place, yet from a Barrow perspective Grimsby looked like a team of thugs. it's always interesting to see the blinkered views of (both) sets of fans at a match.
Grimsby should comfortably get back to winning ways against Hartlepool - whilst our next 4 league games are Crewe (H), Colchester (H), Crawley (A) and Hartlepool (H)
It’s been the same with us - we need to beat the same team.

I’ll say that we’ve played worse than when you beat us on opening day.

We can beat that. When beaten by us it’s their worst game for at least a decade and often in living memory. Also follows that the manager is frequently immediately under pressure for his job.

Too many still up the chairman's backside, it's all Hartley's fault etc, his 'generous' budget being misspent. Doyles.

It's Raj's fault and his alone that we've ended up in this situation. He shafted Challinor, hangs a seasoned ex Poolie in Lee out to dry. The summer, he admitted he'd never heard of Hartley and didn't even speak to the guy yet gives him free rein to be out of his depth. Signing his shite on long deals, I mean how in the actual fuck was this allowed? Besides Cooke, the only player with recent L2 experience was a defender signed from Walsall on loan ffs . Out of what 15 or 16? What kind of strategy is this?

I can go on and on but I don't know if a toxic atmosphere is what's needed as I don't think the majority of players aren't trying. It's just that they are fucking hopeless and toxicity might make things even worse. 3700 in last night, that will get worse . Its probably the better way for Raj to notice as that sort of stuff kills him on the inside. A cockroach calling him a c***, booing the players when he's not even in the ground isn't gonna cut it.
I don't think it will turn toxic.
Fans are just shell shocked at the demise of the club in 12 months, its just drained any energy out of the support base.
It's more of a sad acceptance that'll we'll get relegated.

i didn't realise things had gotten quite that bad..... do you need HG's therapist's number
We've gone from the best home record in Europe, great football, 6000 fans, fantastic atmosphere,to 1 win 25 games in less than 18 months.
We've got two decent players & one isn't even ours, the rest aren't fit for Sunday morning football.
We've also been reduced to signing garbage like Robinson.
So yes,its that bad.

I was slated for suggesting these 3 games (Orient, Stockport and Tranmere) would see us found out.

After back to back defeats in the league it’s now looking like I was right, sadly.

Really pissed off with tonight’s poor display. Our worst of the season by a distance. A relegation standard performance. Lacklustre, no energy, players looked absolutely fucked from the first minute, a nothing performance, but not surprised one bit. I know we have injuries, but the fact we can’t rotate and are fielding players who aren’t in the right condition to play, exposes what a poor squad we have.

We were so slow paced I actually thought we dragged Stockport’s performance down, they played slow, because we were that shite. If they’d upped it more they could have probably put 6 or 7 past us the way we played. Dreadful.

This will become a regular thing as we continue to come up against half competent teams with our weak as piss squad after the favourable set of fixtures we’d had previously. 3 defeats in a row in all competitions. Well and truly found out. Not looking good at all.

Only positive is I didn’t end up going. What a waste of time and money that could have been.
Cheer up.

The last time we won this league with Paul Simpson in charge we lost 4 league games in a row around October time.

He's just repeating history.

It's not exactly Martin Wilkinson standards (if you're too young then count yourself lucky because that really was the pits).

First defeat was against Barrow in the Pizza cup. The team picked resembled a reserve fixture. Enough said.

Second defeat was a narrow home loss against the league leaders. A couple of unfortunate mistakes that could've happened to anyone cost us in the end. However despite playing with 10 men for 60 odd minutes we gave an honest, competitive and committed performance. Full of merit and no shame.

Third defeat was a below par performance but with valid reasons. Dennis left isolated upfront. Shoehorning too many round pegs into square holes in midfield. Losing our most influential player in Huntington. Running out of tactical options. Away from home under the lights facing a team seemingly finding a touch of form. Again no real shame in that type of defeat.

Even defeat against Tranmere on Saturday wouldn't be the end of the world.

Didn’t get to go to Stockport game in the end, but it seemed like a game probably lost by circumstances before the players even walked into the pitch.

Once tactics and style are changed due to issues and suspensions to accommodate glaring gaps and the solution is round pegs in square holes your always on the back foot before a ball is kicked.

Probably be the same Saturday, Simpsons best approach is to just ride out this week the. Focus on trying to kick start it again with the fa cup.

If there was a moment to slate it is that you set up defensive with the view goals will be hard due to a lack of options it is then unforgivable to not mark runners and leave glaring gaps for that run threw on first goal…….the whole point of a solid formation is to reduce gaps not widen them.
If it's any consolation I thought your lads were decent second half, - bag o' shite first half, of course, but definitely came back into it after the break and had some good, probing periods of possession, I was convinced you'd get level until the gorgeous passing bit of play that made up our second.

The second goal was a lovely move culminating with a fantastic header. I would say though that Callum Guy shouldn't have messed around with Paddy Madden. He should've tripped him or pushed him out of play. We have become more robust under Simpson but at times still play too fair.

I'm not condoning overly aggressive play and bully boy tactics. That is both negative and ugly.

What I'm after is for us to be more savvy and proactive in dangerous situations.

We were facing a counter-attack. Guy was out of position on the wing. He found himself in a situation that should be getting dealt with by our wingback or at a push left centre back. A sly nudge in the back is the order of the day. Anything to slow play down and give us an opportunity to get back into shape.

Concede the free kick, regroup and back yourselves to deal with the incoming set-piece.

We were finding a way back into the game at the time. The goal was hugely frustrating because if we were a bit more cute it could've possibly been avoided.

Yup.
Some of our more delusional fans think Raj will spend in January.
There was no money spent in the summer, last summer or last January when the club was on the up.
I can't see him suddenly spending it in a few months time.

Maybe should have taken a gamble on the Gambler (sorry)

Could have played maybe 6-7 games by now and i,m pretty sure the picture would have been rosier.

Curle will get him to put his hand in his pocket to get what’s needed to stay up, otherwise he’ll walk.

He wasn't allowed to sign.

I do have a slight hope Singh will spend but only because his ego might not accept another footballing failure. He knows he's fucked up as well and he won't be comfortable with that. Will blame it on others though.

He’s always looking for his next fall guy, if Curle loses a fifth league game on the spin Saturday you reckon he’ll be the next head infront the target? Madder things have happened under Raj.

Curle sounded utterly fed up after the Salford defeat.
Another couple like that & I think he’ll be off.
If Curle keeps this bag of shyte up,it’ll be on par with the return of Lazarus.
