8 points clear of Southend with 2 games (and 6 points to play for) means our goal difference is irrelevant now.
Yes, I'm wondering how Sky Sports are thinking that there is any doubt that a club 8 points clear with 2 games to go will stay up.

Commiserations to Grimsby. Hope you are back first time.
Class from a Lincoln fan, take note Bottega Don
Sad and annoyed, Good Bye!
Chin up mate, it's gonna be a lot more fun than the last few seasons.
Wish you a speedy return to EFL.
Small consolation, and it is only a small consolation, is that Grimsby have knowledge of National League and know how to be promoted out of it.
Good luck.
Yep, all we have to do is lose two playoff semis and a final on sudden death in successive seasons before finally winning them.
Come back soon! At least you have got rid of that Tory.
Yep, great news that we no longer have to share a forum with Devon Lad.

Sorry to see Grimsby relegated and best of luck for next season. Hopefully the takeover goes through and you can start afresh. Get good people running the club both on board and CEO level, engage with the local community/fans and try and get some momentum. I really don't want to rub it in but you have to use us as an example on getting back to the league as a united club and riding the momentum.

Yep, that's the crux of it. The first signs of our momentum disintegrating were seconds after the final whistle in our promotion final and we made sure it was all but gone by about October/November of the next season.

Also congratulations to cheltenham you have had a great and consistant season and thouroughly deserve your promotion, so its ok if your boys go on a 3 day bender now they deserve it.

Apologies I guess it’s just reading all the posts from masi and thefutureswhite that I’m tarnishing all the good Bolton fans as the trolls that they are!
Accepted wish Southend future success, Phil Brown was our captain and number 2 in our glory days, however the perma tan is fading lol

Sorry to see Grimsby go down . Good luck next season.

Happy to see our old muckers from Cheltenham get promoted. Many a battle, many a win and loss but definitely a decent club and fan base who deserve some success. Don't come straight back down!

I think that completely depends on whether or not we keep Mickey Duff.
And therein lies your problem, there will be a few clubs higher up the pyramid looking on with envious eyes.

Looking from the outside keeping MD for one one year is important to your club.
With him at the helm Cheltenham will, I expect, do okay. A new manager is always a voyage into the unknown. In truth Cheltenham struck gold when they appointed MD. First club he had ever managed and a club that had been skirting relegation for a few years but two years later VOILA.

Thanks for another well thought out and reasoned post, and with only the two grammatical mistakes which is a fantastically good effort for a dimwit like you.

It’s quite worrying to think that you are a fully grown man, yet you have about as much intelligence as an embryo.
