As I mentioned on the other thread, Harrogate are a proper bogey side in recent years, up there with Solihull Motors RUFC. We could have some world class players in our ranks and still wouldn't beat them. Fully expecting nothing on Tuesday.

I mistakenly thought we were away on Tuesday against Southend, not that being at home makes any difference.

I know they're in a bit of form at the moment, but we really need to keep our good run going. Sercombe should be back as well, which is great news.

Ugh Salford away, would love to beat them again but the injuries are ridiculous at the moment and worry the late sucker punch yesterday will have knocked them for six like the Tranmere one did in November.

Added to them it’s been over a year since Salford lost at their nuts and bolts stadium.

Assume Gibbons will come in after being rested following his long lay off although in fairness Mills didn’t play to bad yesterday and even put in a stunning ball that no one gambled on.

Need to try and pick ourselves up and use yesterday as motivation really as need a win from somewhere, Cullen looked lively when he came on so might be worth giving him a go.

Yet again a game where we need to bounce back after a poor performance. We will be missing key players up front and in defence (assuming Parkes' red isnt overturned) and strange comments about Seymour being tired, but we should still have enough.

Scunthorpe at home. They had a good run against sides lower in the table but have then lost their last two against Bolton and Cheltenham. We need to follow those.

It’s great to finally have options in midfield as we’ve been missing Boateng for two months, O’Neill all season and Digby is still out. Hoolahan will probably be missing but we need to learn to win without him. We need to win this.

Scunthorpe at home. They had a good run against sides lower in the table but have then lost their last two against Bolton and Cheltenham. We need to follow those.

Yep, if we want one of those top 3 places then the next 2 at home are must wins with the run of fixtures coming after that looking more difficult.

think we could have done with not playing this Tuesday with the amount we’ve played lately, certain players just looked heavy legged to me and think we could have done with being on the training ground for a week.

Expecting a tough game though as Scunthorpe have certainly improved from when we played them earlier in the season.

Yeah right now, I feel it's just about pride, if we do beat Colchester then it won't give me any more hope that we might actually pick anything up when we come to play the likes of Bradford and Bolton and it won't change my view that, basically I'll be amazed if we get into the playoffs from where we are and if Beech somehow manages to pull off promotion this season, digging us out of not one, not two, but three holes in the time he's been at the club then he deserves manager of the season without a doubt.

I listen to a few different podcasts that focus on Leagues One and Two, and read a couple of statto's blogs too and one thing I've noticed is that the hosts have stopped talking about us. When you're in and around the promotion picture, you'll always get talked about, they talk a lot about the teams that are up there, and about the Boltons and Bradfords who are on promotion form. They also talk about teams in the relegation picture but not as much, and about any club who have sacked their manager, or have Dylan Bahamboula. Then they barely touch on the likes of Scunthorpe and Walsall, really only to mention their result. The used to talk a lot about Crawley but not any more.

A few weeks ago there was pretty much a Carlisle United section in each podcast, there was much to discuss even during January when we weren't playing. The last couple of podcasts I've listened to, coverage of us has basically been 'Carlisle lose again, they've been poor since restarting'. That kind of drives my impression that we're just a mid-table club now. Pundits may not be faultless and I'm not saying I put absolute faith in their opinions, but as a group they usually know what to focus their time on looking at and if they lose interest in a club it's usually a sign of mediocrity.

Carlisle are on a bad run of form, every team has their lulls throughout the season, even eventual promotion winners. There are 57 points available to play for, as much as five games in hand on some of the sides above you so I can't believe you're writing the season off at this stage. These are the same players that had you up there and one win (Tuesday please) could be the one that relights the fire.

Carlisle fans do seem a pessimistic bunch, RC was a depressing listen last night from their perspective. Must be a Northern thing.

Morecambe v Crawley. High on the list of least watched games this season.

A Watters inspired Crawley strolled to a 4-0 win against top of the table Morecambe in the reverse fixture. We've stuttered along since then. Good results, terrible results but never quite reached those heights again. Always struggled at Morecambe, won some but never well. Lost some and been hammered too.

A win would be unexpected, a draw would be good and a loss would be expected but at least our forwards have scored again.

We've been stuck in this division for a while now, feels like only yesterday we were relegated down here yet we're now one of the longest serving teams at this level. In that time the February collapse has become a feature, every time we challenge for promotion, we get to February and our form falls off a cliff so it's like here we go again. There's been plenty of seasons where we've been one of the automatic promotion chasing teams around Christmas time, but we've only made the playoffs once. Half the time, by the time we get into April we're barely even mathematically capable of making the playoffs.

I would say this division is the worst one to be in. Hopefully you'll stay up so that you too can find that out.

Thats football shoddy, i thought you looked a good team first half, yes you looked a different team second half but progress has been made surely. Build on it in the summer, egos, size of clubs, expensive squads dont always get you out of this league togetherness and team spirit can tho

Aside from the last minute of added time in the play-off final, we've not beaten Newport since their return to the FL. Rovers were pretty poor, losing 1-0 in the reverse fixture during the Mike Jackson era. There's the fear that this will be a re-run of the recent Stevenage game, when we failed to get a grip after a bright start and ended up losing. Hopefully we'll be in a positive frame of mind after two good wins on the road, while the situation with any James Vaughan injury should become clearer.

Perfectly capable of rolling over and dying at Grimsby. We’re better than the run we’re on at the moment, but not by much. Might turn things round eventually I suppose.

Newport at home followed by Crawley at home. Personally I’m more worried about the Crawley game. But then come 9pm Tuesday Newport will have done a job on us and got at least a point. So I’m just going to stop talking.

Orient are currently 6/5 to win away at Grimsby, and I think that's excellent odds - whilst we only have 3 points from our last 5 games, I think we're a little better than that run suggests, especially with Danny Johnson getting back to match fitness, and ore importantly Jobi Macanuff stepping into the managerial role on an interim basis - Jobi is a club legend so I think he will get a response from the players, many of whom are out of contract in the summer and will want to show what they can do.

In contrast Grimsby are on pretty poor form, 1 win in the last 5 by a goal at home to crawley, a team who we were very unlucky not to beat despite playing with 10 men against 12 for the full 90 , so I think an away win is on the cards.

That said, the Mariners need to win games like this at the moment, at home to a side on poor form - what are the thoughts from the seaside?
