Charlie Jolley might get a chance on tuesday because he is cup tied for sunday and Nugent might rested. Could start with Danny Lloyd. No chance of working it out from his pre match interviews because he gives nothing away.

We could go with the Pizza Trophy tactic of playing without any recognised striker so their defenders haven't got a clue who they are supposed to be defending against.
From KH post-match comments it doesn’t sound like Jolley will be starting games soon and reckon your Pizza Cup style line-up more likely.

Its worked quite well so far. Maybe Liverpool should give it a try.

We're all Tranmere, Oldham and erm Carlisle (to scrape a draw at least) on Tuesday night....
I fancy Oldham to win at Port Vale as Oldham's away form is way better than their home form - must be the pressure of playing in front of their home fans that gets to them.... As for Port Vales home form - well we won there so enough said...
Carlisle v Grimsby. There's no 2 ways about it - Grimsby need to win (as do Carlisle) - I can see both teams scoring - and conceding in this battle of whose worst at present. 2-2 draw with Nick Anderton getting 2 for Carlesle and 2 OG for Grimsby.
Southend vs Tranmere. I don't care what formation or tactics Tranmere go for as long as they don't lose. I'm going 1-0 Tranmere with an OG from the Southend top scoring LB. Uphold the honour of the North Tranmere....

Can see a 2-1 win to Grimsby.

I'm gonna try and not be all melodramatic about it because I know the Grimsby fans aren't enjoying this season and don't want to read someone whose team is mid-table bleating about having it tough but still everything about the way we've played since the start of February says that the quality or form of the opponents we face is irrelevant. We're a far better team than Graham Kavanagh's blues team from a few years back but if we met them now that team would still beat us. Don't go putting your life savings on it or owt, but still... it's gonna be three points to Grimsby.

At least you haven't lost 6 home games on the run like our all conquering neighbours.

Going forwards I’d be a lot happier if the club and Ferrier had not had that falling out.

Yeah, always brings me right back down to Earth if I take a moment to reflect on those who have it worse.

Bury fans moaning about not having a club could really learn something from how stoically the Liverpool fans have reacted to following a Premier league title up with a mediocre season in which they might not even qualify for the champions league

Goes without saying that losing Vaughan at this stage of the season is a big blow to Tranmere (he's probably too good for L2 if I'm being honest) but I still reckon they'll go up. They're not a one man team and I think they do have enough quality in their squad to make up for this little setback.

Re our match at what is without doubt the most beautiful ground in the whole wide world, I can only see a 2-0 defeat :( Would've been a different story if we had gone there earlier in the season but it's evidently clear that most of our starting XI do need a rest but we don't have enough quality on the bench. And that is the main reason why we'll drop out of the top 3, and not the games in hand we have over our rivals.

Still, having said that the ressies are not good enough, I keep asking myself whether bringing on an average player is preferable to sticking with a better player that has ran himself into the ground.

Hankie sales in Merseyside are off the scale due to all the blubbering from them. Not forgetting Ireland and Scandinavia.

I see Mullin is out of contract in the summer. Have you not tried to tie him down. We got offered him in the Summer for whatever reason we did not sign him.
Can you see yourself keeping him if you go up or can you see him returning to the north west with one of the lge 2 teams playing there next season......say like a Tranmere?

It was Mullin's choice to sign for one year, and not the club's, so it was either that or no deal. Safe to say we're glad the club thought having him here for just the one season was better than not signing him at all. I don't think us winning promotion to L1 will change anything if I'm being honest as he'll want to join a club much closer to home.

Despite not losing, we seem to have really struggled against Mansfield so far, and both our games against them were at home. The first we escaped with a 0-0 draw and the second in the FA Cup we went behind stupidly early and had to get a late equaliser before winning in extra-time.

As per yesterday, given the team's respective form, we should win on Tuesday, but I certainly won't be counting my chickens - especially the way we nearly got caught out from 3-0 up.

Think he is to alike Doyle for us to be interested.....Can see him getting a good contract and rocking up at Salford next season

Stevenage are on form and we are out of form.

We have 2 home games this week - If Jobi wants the job long term he is going to need at least 4 points, our remaining fixtures this month are winnable, I never expected us to get anything at Exeter on Saturday but if we don't get a decent performance on Tuesday I'd expect us to slip further down the table.

I'm not confident though, 20 players out of contract in the summer and if the truth be told 95% will be gone in a few months. The better ones will move higher and the best of the rest from our NL winning season know they're not good enough to stay.

You will be after Messi surely. He seems to like it at a club that doesn't pay its bills so should slot in easily.

Despite form and league position I think it'll be a really tough game, at the moment I don't think a draw would be a bad result.

On paper we should have a chance against Oldham but unfortunately for this bunch of tomato cans we have in our team you actually have to play the game. They have the worst defensive record in the division so if we can't at least manage a shot on target here then you'd have to be concerned. Oldham sacking their manager added an unknown into the mix but to be honest they only really need to just stick Bahamboula on the same side as Mills and the rest will take care of itself.

Will Swan needs to start up front. Just cannot tolerate seeing the traffic cone (as described by Ale and the Vale podcast) Guthrie any longer. Turns out fans of other clubs when they usually describe a player as being shit it turns out they actually are so I hope Vale fans have now reached the statute of limitations on bringing out the "but Akpo Sodje" line when we sign known shit players in future.

We might keep him if we go up. But if not then I expect him to move to a League 1 club in the north west. Rochdale, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Shrewsbury etc.

Guthrie needs a goal, he just looks completely devoid of any confidence, nothing like the Guthrie that took us apart for Stevenage a couple of years back. Problem is in our position we can’t afford to persevere with it.

Swan came on and did more than all our other strikers in 15 minutes have done in 5 or 6 games now. Turned the game, scored one and made the other. He must start, shove Rodney out wide to target Oldham’s full backs and hopefully we can cause problems.

They had a few out at the weekend not sure if they have any returning nor us for that matter...

It’s a huge game, must not lose but need a win. Bolton will be a toughy in their form (although similar form to when we last played them) so this game, Newport and Colchester are huge games. We simply have to start winning games or we will get sucked in.

Not sure if the Kewell situation helps or not, seems an odd decision but they are basket case level so hopefully helps us.

I don’t actually expect us to win at Carlisle but given the run they are on, 5/1 for us to win is cracking value really.
