Think we will lose tonight.

Be a tough ask in the situation.

On one hand if we can defend and put the effort in that we did on Saturday I'm confident we can get a point but they put a lot into that game and with the injuries forcing our hand early on followed by a huge treck tonight this could be a step too far.

This will be a test of our new fitness levels that’s for sure.

See what XI we can put out. Probably need Manny back tonight to have a chance.

Oyeleke was still very raw when he was with us but I liked him. Sadly Tisdale froze him out from November onwards and he only played one more game for us. Hope he does well for Vale but obviously not tonight.

I expect Parkes will be recalled in place of Aaron Martin but otherwise I can’t see any other changes unless it’s due to injury.

Think we will win but Vale will be tough to play against. Fancy a 2-1 victory. Bowman and Seymour off the bench with a late winner.

Really down to bare bones tonight, Oyeleke not ready, Gibbons the fourth injury along with the three off on Saturday is a massive blow, he’s been outstanding this season.

We’ve had to get Danny Pugh out of retirement to fill the bench!

Rhys Browne having to play again so soon after a long lay off isn’t ideal either.

Could be a long night.

Seven players out injured already is worrying!

Give us very little chance tonight, we managed tough it out against Plymouth at the weekend but such a quick turnaround with a depleted squad and away from home can only see a defeat. Hopefully we can keep it tight and make them work for it but tonight’s a bit of a throwaway game for me.

Losing Gibbo on top of it is huge. He’s been arguably our best performer.

Big chance for Kennedy but he’s a centre half isn’t he?

He is I believe but when we signed him I think Askey said he could fill in at full back if needed, will just miss out on the overlaps going forward down the right now. Shame Gibbons isn’t able to play tonight but in all honesty even if it was 50-50 for example I’d rather not risk him and have him ready for Mansfield on Saturday which you’d fancy us to win at the moment.

Yeah definitely. Who knows they may surprise us! It’s only really one change from the XI that played the majority of the Argyle game I guess!

Despite Vale’s injuries I’d be surprised if we won comfortably.

We’ve made a few more changes than I expected. Randell Williams has been rested to the bench and Jayden Richardson will play wing back with Sparkes as LWB.

A big night for young striker Ben Seymour who gets his first league start alongside Bowman. Hope he does well.

We've made five changes tonight, so hopefully we might be able to find some cutting edge going forwards.

Jermaine Anderson staring in midfield *gulp*, chance of success reduced straight away.

Feels like it's only a matter of time before Exeter get the opening goal.

Scott Brown is having a great game so far for us.

3 Vale players booked in the space of 5 minutes. That's not going to help things.

Salford are crap, scored a free kick, dunno whether it was amazing and swerved in the air or took a deflection, but probably the only time they have got near our box.

We have been watching FGR and playing lovely passing football amongst the back 4 but as soon as we get into the final third we forget what a football is.

Needs some quality in this game badly.

Played alright, defended well and had a couple of openings, shame it was Legge on the end of the chance right on half time!

Taylor’s yellow was ridiculous, just outmuscled their winger the linesman didn’t give any foul! The other two were down to poor passes back.

Need to retain the ball better and maybe a time for the Pontiff but so far we look ok.

Maybe on 70 minutes I'd give it some thought. Am just wondering though if Cullen might be the better option to bring on late give them something different to deal with. Otherwise just need to keep digging in there and keep it goalless as long as possible.

We started slow but have grown into it a bit and it’s not one way traffic past the first 10 minutes so hopefully we can keep plugging away.

Missing Gibbo and looked tired though which is a worry as the game goes on.

Yeah, frustrating first half. Plenty of possession and opportunities but not converting anything. Port vale will hope to snatch something from this now.

Unofficial 4th official VAR in our game tonight.

We just scored a free kick but green was in the wall so I thought good job no Var. Just about to kick off after the goal and 4th official calls the ref over who then disallows the goal!

How are we meant to feel about that? On one hand it was the correct decision but how on earth can the 4th official intervene like that, a good while after the decision was given? It's annoying because while we've been pretty poor, Salford have been utter shite and we really needed the lift from that goal. Now they still have something to hold onto and have been more than happy to shut shop. Can only blame ourselves I guess.

Been watching most of this on Sky Bet and Salford are one of the worst teams I’ve ever seen, they look Conference North standard.
Will be an awful result if we lose this.

Fuck me we're good at Whaddon Road.

Obviously I only have the radio to go on, but it sounds like we're much the better team tonight. Our commentators aren't overly biased either.

1-0 Exeter, shame as we'd been hanging in there really well before. Good effort nonetheless from Vale.
