Walsall v Swindon Town

Given their massive game at the weekend I think it’s acceptable for Grimsby to play their under-12s girls reserve team in tomorrow’s match

Away wins for Crewe and Grimsby please, and preferably a draw at Sixfields. Failing the latter, I'll begrudgingly accept an away win there too :p

Our 'squad' players didn't do the job at Carlisle, but I'd hope they will be more competitive at Sutton tomorrow evening. Give Paul Hurst a head ache before naming the team and bench for the Brighton game on Sunday.

I wonder what the Northampton fans think about you fielding second string players against their promotion rivals.

Nah sure they don't care.

I am in the minority that was not outraged by the Scunny v Brizzle situation anyway tbh. I spend enough time focusing on our club without worrying about anyone else's. We benefited when the PPG occurred during the lockdown to get us into the playoffs which we went onto win. Was it annoying, yeah. Am i going to rant on twitter like a 12 year old, nope.

Anyways, big game for us down at San Sixfields tonight. With so many out from both side I imagine both sides would settle for a point. I would have we could sneak one or two back from injury but wont know until kick off. I am going for a disappointing 2-1 loss though. We have not been convincing at all despite the recent up turn in results and at home in particular we have struggled. Can see Mansfield despite their injury woes doing a job on us.

Hoping to get back from Cheltenham in time for this! should be okay if the traffic is not to bad on the M5, but i am not going to rush as this will turn out a draw or another home loss for us.

Can’t see Crewe doing anything to help stop Stevenage’s mini-resurgence. Swindon need a win or they’re probably too far adrift of the playoffs. Home wins in Northamptonshire and Surrey, with Newport-Wombles likely ugly, depressing and pointless. And that’s just the fans. The game will be worse.

I was going to say that none of these games matter to the relegation battle and therefore I'm not interested, but then looked at the league table and saw that actually the 5 teams directly above us are all playing tonight. When did we get to 19th?! If all 5 of them could drop points that'd be nice, just to help our rise to our coveted 13th placed finish and official Champions of the bottom half.

I don't think we'll be seeing the wholesale changes a lot are expecting. I'd expect Emmanuel and Glennon to be rested but then everyone else will be standard rotations that we'd have maybe seen regardless of the Brighton match. Going four at the back will ease things a bit I think. I reckon we'll go with something like...

Crocombe
Efete
Waterfall
Smith
Amos
Clifton
Morris
Green
Khan
Lloyd
McAtee

No chance we'll be seeing the likes of Battersby, Scannell, Wearne, Pearson starting like some are saying. Hurst will want a win. We might see Khouri or O'Neill start or even TDP but these are players that have been getting minutes anyway. I think we'll see early changes though and I think we'll use all our subs.

I think you're probably right. O'Neill might start in place of McAtee because he's cup-tied and we can rest arguably our best player, but he was a bit crap at Carlisle. Wouldn't be completely shocked to see a Hunt, Morris, Khouri midfield too but it will be a fairly familiar team I think.

What was it, 267 Town at Gillingham? Doesn't feel like there's much chatter about this one. Got a feeling it might be the first sub-200 away in yonks on the cards. If not, London Mariners will squeak us over 200

Yeah, 267 I think. You're right, it's gonna be low tonight. Our midweek support down South has been much poorer than last season, not really sure why. Really highlights how good those 700s at Bromley and Wealdstone and that 500 at Southend were. I was hoping we might hit 400/500 tonight but looking at the lack of talk, I'm not convinced at all now though. Gillingham was proper crap, that won't have helped the cause. Sutton's ground is a pain to get to too, as the crow flies it's really close to where I live in Peckham, but I'm still looking at a good hour and a quarter to get home.

7 points off Salford in 7th with 2 games in hand. Defo a must win. We have most of the current top sides at home left and most of the bottom feeders away.

1,022 hardy souls still believe and making the trip. Mmmmm.

Not a bad effort that. He's continued with 3 at the back so there's an extra CB on there in place of Khan so I called that wrong but other than that and Taylor for McAtee I've nailed that lineup. Strong team. Shows that we've got competition for places right now as there are changes to the weekend but it's still very much a first team lineup.

we have been absolutely dreadful. Commo guys for Northampton got it spot on though ‘the Mansfield defence have got it tough considering both wing backs are strikers’

Poor 1st half for Sutton. A couple of half decent moments but we’ve yet to make the Grimsby keeper work.

I admire the route 1 nature of the Grimsby goal

Nevermind. They think Clough did it to try and catch Northampton off guard. Idiots.

Poor disjoined first half performance from Mansfield, back line is all over the place and we keep losing the ball in our own half, we actually had a great 1v1 to equalise but Northampton deservedly in front. Main problem is how do we change it with no options.

Stephen Quinn done his annual liability red card, we are literally on the cusp of a complete disaster this season from lack of players and he goes and puts in a horrendous tackle because he got mardy. Should be fined by the club.
