Another poor clearance from us drops to their player on edge of box. To be fair it was a great strike that no keeper was saving but came from our own poor clearance again like Saturday.

Save for that clusterfuck on their goal we’ve played some cracking football tonight in fairness.

Battered Salford first half, get undone on a set piece.

We've been poor. Could get hammered at this rate.

Not exaggerating here but that’s up there with the worst 45 mins of football I’ve ever seen from us, even in our non league years, I can’t remember a half as bad as that, absolutely pathetic performance.

I’ve just had 4 nights on the sick so was gonna give tonight a swerve to save money, then driving home from the Cinema at 5PM I see Blundell Park approaching on my right, slowly I feel my car slowing down as my foots sliding on the brake and before you know it I’ve 2 tickets in my hand.
Football don’t you just love it! :bg1:

Always good to cement your place in the bottom half to avoid any misplaced hopes I guess!

If we play like this every week we’d be relegated, thankfully, we won’t.

We're poor, only got one thing and that's to hoof it to Hanson, other than that we have no idea what to do. Must had had the ball for about 4 mins before Colchester second and did nothing with it, other than finally get a deep cross in to Hanson to head it wide.

Colchester then break put in a cross and score from a player with two defenders stood on him.

Colchester have looked decent but we have helped them out. We really need to have a plan B other than hoof it long to Hanson all game. Don't think Green has even touched the ball this half.

God we're good at home, if we could do this away we'd have the league won by Christmas. Clear handball from Varney leading up to the second but that makes up for the non-penalty against Orient I suppose :dk:

Excellent performance that half from Vale. FGR really struggling with our pace out wide and Richie Bennett more than justified his start. More of the same hopefully.

Their keeper looks an accident waiting to happen with his distribution also.

Superb game and we’ve been outstanding again, same concern, we should be 4 or 5-1 with hitting the bar and the chances especially Conlon from 8 yards.

FGR a danger when they get into good positions but defensively they are all over the place. Their keeper can’t pass! On one of the widest pitches in the EFL he’s probably put 15 out of play!

If we keep getting the crosses in we should win this but again with Gibbons error to gift them a goal we need to stay switched on.

How did that Macca save look on tv from the header at 1-0, from our angle it looked a worldie?

Wollacott keeps trying to clip it out to the full backs, and keeps putting it 15 yards over their heads.

Jolley seemed like a good footballing coach before. Why has he totally chucked that out the window? Surely tweaking it a bit and playing with a bit of variety would work better?

Vale are physical with a big man up top, but they move it well at the same time and have wingers running at us all the time. Look an impressive unit.

Dreadful 1st half, continuing our theme of not scoring in the 1st half this season. Need to improve 2nd half - massively.

It was a good save but wouldn't call it a worldie, didn't go out for a corner either but then that linesman has been worse than us this half!

Must admit when I watched the first half against Morecambe I was shocked how we just hoofed it long all game to Hanson. Wasn't what I was expecting from this season, but then we won even though it wasn't great. Drew against Bradford but played well and should really have won.

But against you and tonight it's all a bit telegraphed and poor. Guess hoofing and winning can't really complain but when you hoof and lose its horrible.

I think we have the players to not hoof it as well, I guess the signing of Hanson has made us just play to his strengths, but hopefully we start to change it up soon especially if this continues.

Good start to the half from Ogbu, not sure it was a penalty. One of those when it should be when it's for you, but feel hard done by if given against you.

Need to push on now and build on this. No hoof ball led to that penalty decision!

Would have been an utter disgrace if that had been a red. It was a superb tackle, took the ball cleanly.

2-1 up at Crawley. Paul Green. Top of the league*.

*May be the only time I get to say that.
