Anyone else think its a dumb idea?

Especially for clubs that have no chance of making the play offs. Why are Telford fans going to buy a ticket for a play off final involving too clubs they have no interedt in, and even clubs that will probably make the play offs its still a lottery if they will the final

Exactly. I wont be buying a ticket! No interest in going to watch whatsoever. Will just watch it on TV.

I had a bit of a run in with the Conference twitter guy over it. The thing they don't seem to be advertising very well is that if you buy these tickets then your club keep all the money so even if your team don't make the play off final your club still benefit from it.
He is adamant that fans of one club wont be able to buy from another club, I think they will be unable to stop people either buying them from a club where fans are unlikely to be interested or fans selling them to each other later. The other issue that concerns me is whilst you get a voucher to exchange for tickets, there seems to be no guarantee that the tickets you can exchange for will be anywhere near the rest of your own fans should your team make it.

The offer is for all Conference teams including north\south so it works out at 500 tickets per club (Not sure if different leagues have different allocations)

It's madness . Why would anyone whose team is not involved want to go to the playoff final . I can't see dartford fans wanting to have a " day out " for example . Surely this is over complicating what should be pretty simple ticket release .

Erm, I went to the Conference Playoff Final last year. Although I did have a freebie.

It's a good idea in principle but the Conf PO Final tickets are ridiculously overpriced. I think it was something mad like £30. Having a load of cheap vouchers now and then attempting to sell to teams of the clubs involved for £30 a pop later just feels a little wrong..

Fair enough , I just know I wouldn't be arsed unless rovers were there . It seems a lot of expense and effort if you no affinity to the clubs involved.

It was £36, and then a booking fee on top.

Bring them down to a sensible price, and let the clubs sell them from the stadiums instead of via some useless ticket website/phoneline.

As I said on the shoutbox to Cardsfan last night, I'll be picking one up. I quite enjoy going to football matches as a neutral and costing just a tenner for a ticket is excellent value for money as far as I'm concerned.

There's a lot of skepticism in this thread, those 35,000 seats would have gone unsold anyway so any idea which can get bums on seats and benefit every member club of the Conference gets the thumbs up from myself.

I also didn't know until posted above that the club keeps the money so that's £10 going to the Stones that I didn't know would.

I suppose it might be a tempting offer for people who live in or around London, but I can't imagine many people wanting to travel 4 or 5 hours to watch two conference teams that they don't support play a match that's on telly anyway.

Like the Stones fan I don't live too far from Wembley. I'd be home an hour after kickoff.

This idea will help fill the ground a little more, there'll be tons of unsold tickets as it is. It's a decent enough idea.

I went to the Vase Final last year and I've often felt it should be on the same day as the Trophy Final. I'd fancy a double header at Wembley.

I went the other season when Newport beat Wrexham. It was a very enjoyable game, bought tickets at the stadium on the day as I went with another Diamonds fan, we made a late call to go, and we managed to get seats behind the goal where Newport scored the two goals in the second half. Obvious reasons for choosing the Newport end.

I might go for some of these tickets. If I do, I will need to pick a club to do it through.

Seems like a good idea to shift some extra tickets for a game that never gets close to selling out, but a stupid americanised name/branding for it.

Edit: Quite relevant to point out I live in London. I probably wouldn't bother looking at it if I didn't.

I have to admit that I haven't read all the blurb about this as, for starters I'm not convinced my team will get anywhere near the final and, I wouldn't want to jinx it by buying a ticket months in advance. Is this a clever ploy to flog off all the cheap seats in the stadium, largely to people who probably won't bother attending the game, so they can sell all the expensive ones to fans of the teams who do make it. The other thing is that, despite never having been to the new Wembley, with BT Sport covering the Final I am just as happy to watch the game at home.

If my team were already knocked out and i was living within a couple of hours drive away i'd be tempted a good price to do a bit of groundhopping at a not too shabby venue. As it is i think i would rather take a chance on us getting there and sitting with my own supporters. I don't think £36 is a ridiculous price to see your team at Wembly. Never been to Wembley in my blue and white and it'd be worth every penny.

Nice gesture that the club gets to keep the money - which really should be advertised more. It's not even on the article on the main sites is it?

I get off at Wembley Park & change to get to home games, yet I still probably won't bother.

A Geordie exile mate of mine decided to go and support Gateshead last year - said he had to pay £47 each on the day!

Issue with Wembley these days is that it's overused. The majority of league clubs have been there within the past decade, some of them multiple times. I think York City played there twice in a season in the Trophy and Conf Playoff Final (someone will be along to correct me soon). A lot of fans have been to Wembley now and the novelty has worn off a little. I'm not sure £36 is sustainable in the long run.

Cambridge played there twice last season! Then took Man U to a reply this season. Decent 12 months for their fans!

Just found out that there is no choice as to where you sit with the voucher and all the vouchers sold by an individual club are allocated together.

This means if your team makes the playoff you get to sit with the rest of your fans and if they don't then your team's fans who bought vouchers will be sat together.

Sounds like a good system tbh.

I it were £10 I think it would be a good idea.

A playoff final from league 1 down won't sell out so its a good idea to get some fans in that wouldnt normally bother - even if its not an extra thousand or so.

Might be seing you all again soon in the bananarama league
