We'll be saying goodbye to Cheltenham Town, Kidderminster, Welling, Halifax and Altrincham. Welcome to York, Dagenham, Solihull and Sutton.

Would love for Truro to come up, however if they don't, and FGR go up, then we are even more miles from everywhere!!

Still to come..one of:

FGR v Grimsby

Fylde v North Ferriby

Maidstone v Ebbsfleet

I'm afraid it will be us failing to jump off the playground slide back into conference north. We've just not had enough quality or belief in front of goal this season, far too inconsistent and too many draws.
Failing to take any points off Boreham Wood last week was just typical.
Needing someone else to slip up and us to take at least a point on Saturday is clutching at straws. I just hope we go for it and not just sit back and try to defend.

Why did you get rid of your striker I think his name is Dickinson? He was quality and the difference between us both times we played you.

Us Guiseley fans want to know the answer to that one too. All the manager had to say was that Bradford Park Avenue came in for him on loan, he couldn't offer him guaranteed game time so he chose to leave. As Dicko was our only big strong striker we lost our plan B. Bizarre decision and there has to be more to it I think.

I'm afraid Alty are down now, :bye:no chance of the most unlikely sequence of results keeping us up on saturday.
Alty dont quite have the resources to stay in NL over a prolonged period these days, maybe we are dropping back to our natural level?
We did well last year by playing good football rather than joining the big physical approach like most teams now, but losing our best 4 players for almost the whole season was a step too far to cope with, especially Nicky Clee.

As for Guiseley, it has been interesting to see you morph from a good footballing side into a much more physical one and if you do go down, which I hope you dont by the way, you will need to either get even more physical next year or return to being a very skilful footballing side as you were previously.

At least if you drop with us, we can renew our friendly rivalry both on and off the pitch, clubs with a similar ethos methinks.

We will be back, stronger and wiser :box:

Chuffed there's at least one trip to the South-West in there. Don't want too many long hauls long that, but one weekend down in cider country is always welcomed

Potentially Truro if they can get through the play-offs as well.

You might as well put us in there now. We're supposed to lose to bloody Mickey Mouse Macclesfield to have any chance of Conference North title next year. Just can't see it happening. :dk::shut:

If you still had Nicky Clee I think you'd have pipped Cheltenham to the title.

I heard from a source that this guy is quite decent, what is your opinion on him?

He's 31 reaching end of his career and very injury prone but when he's fit is a joy to watch. Big gamble now if his 2 operations have worked or not, if not thats curtains I'm afraid.

Talk about cherry picking statistics on your website (http://www.solihullmoorsfc.co.uk/news/details.php?news_id=12231)
"Gary’s record at the top level of non-league football speaks for itself, with just two defeats in 25 games as Manager and with the team in the play-off positions until financial issues at the club forced the sale of 3 of their best players, his vast experience and knowledge of what it takes to compete at this level will be vital as The Moors look to establish themselves as a National League team."

I can't find any stage of his management career with us where that was true. Certainly not his first 25 games, where we lost 4.
Also, the bit about the team being in the playoffs. We were after his fourth match only in his first part season, then we snuck into fifth for a small period in his second season before finishing 16th and in his third season, well, I don't think it needs saying.

Saying that, I think (and hope) he'll do well at Solihull. He is a fantastic number two with an eye for young local talent, but just shouldn't be trusted with the top job and don't let him choose your 'big name' signings. We ended up with Exodus Geohaghon, Craig Reid and Reece Styche...

Just two new grounds for me next season if we come up, three if Fylde beat Ferriby. Some decent away days though!

We ended up with Exodus a couple of seasons ago. Good long throw, but his positioning is dreadful. Shame you went down, we have 0 local games next season :err:

It's been getting weaker for years. Conference North, genuinely, looks tougher.

Loads of those tinpotters will start chucking money at it again so it'll always be tough but yeah, it's getting worse every year. If Tranmere get their shit together then they'd have to be up there for the title. Seeing Grimsby go up makes me imagine what it would feel like if we were ever to escape from this hellhole. This'll be our 9th fucking season down here, it's way too long.

Not sure about weak but it looks like it could be a close season. Lots of decent sides without (m)any stand outs. I'd hope we can have a play-off push.

The quality of the stadiums has gone down this season, lost two decent ones in Kiddy and Halifax, and the teams that have come up all have tired and tiny stadiums. Bar Maidstone where it's new and tiny.

Does look quite a poor league next year. Think Tranmere will be challenging, would expect Lincoln and FGR to be up there too.

Well we'll be working on the tiny shortly, upgrading to small! Not in time for anyone here's liking, mind you.

there will be a lot of teams challenging next year but the league isn't that weak - there are 13 ex Football league sides (if you include the reformed ones), plus Eastleigh and Forest Gump. I'd say it's not weak - but is wide open - summer signings could be very important. Cox seams to be going for his 6'0+" score a lot from set pieces teams here, Gateshead have started recruiting well with Manny Smith, Wrexham will always hold the promise of a potentially good season, Tranmere will be good if they ever have the balls to get rid of Brabin, Daggers and York will have parachute payment money, Lincoln should improve under Cowley, Dover are solid (but need to keep Deverdics) etc etc

Now, I'll probably get savaged for my lack of non-league knowledge, but I'd say it looks a pretty tough league. FGR and Eastleigh will be there or there abouts won't they with the budget they have? Gateshead will always be a factor and have made a couple of decent signings by the looks of it. Macc should be good bets for a top half finish shouldn't they? Wouldn't be surprised to see Torquay come on strong after a decent end to this season. Dover, Tranmere, Wrexham, York all bets for the top 5 imo. Woking as well now that they've gotten their injured guys back. D&R have a manager that extensively knows the non-league scene, wouldn't be surprised to see him rustle up some gems.

I think it looks like quite a tough league tbh. Maybe not blessed with great quality, but a real battle.

Weaker league, nah will just be more chalengeing near top, some of whom folk will think have no right to because they aint ex football league and are bankrolled. Those promoted from north sure look weaker and after seen guiesleys stadium look basic last season we could well ne seen more basisc grounds. Has league relaxed ground gradeing?
