The sheds down the North end of the ground will be removed (they hold 700ish) and with everything being fenced off there wont be much room behind that goal.

Wont be a problem when the 2000 capacity terrace is built....anyone with good away support better hope they dont visit till later in the season.

Looking at the map and taking into account I can't see Wrexham vs Chester, I'd take a stab that the Christmas/NY games will be:
Gateshead v York
Barrow v Guiseley
North Ferriby v Lincoln
Tranmere v Southport
Chester v Macclesfield
Wrexham v Solihull Moors
FGR v Boreham Wood
Dagenham v Braintree
Bromley v Sutton
Aldershot v Woking
Maidstone v Dover
Torquay v £astleigh.

FGR Boreham Wood is a fair distance, would have put us V Solihull or Torquay and put Eastleigh in to play one of the other 9 clustered South East area teams for that weekend.

Given the population having only Solihull as a Midland club in this league is strange TBF,

I think that's because most of the traditional non-league teams who were able to push for promotion to the Football League have done so and the rest that remain don't have the means or the support to do so.

Yes, I suppose it is a bit of a distance. But with Torquay and Solihull sort of marooned on their own, there's going to be a couple of longer trips. I still think I'm not that far off, but possibly swap to FGR v Torquay and £astleigh v Boreham Wood as you say.

B Wood isn't that bad for us, we took over 100 there last season, in midweek!

We'll get Torquay again though, which is a shame cos I'd rather have them away on August bank holiday or something.

The likes of FGR, Eastleigh, Barrow (potentially), then Fylde etc in North and South might not agree with that.

Eastleigh and FGR have the means but you still need a modicum of a fan base as well to achieve it. While I think it more likely that FGR will eventually reach the league than not , it's still not a given. I'm not convinced that Eastleigh will actually ever get promoted to the Football League, certainly if they maintain their current attitude towards squad building. Barrow definitely have the support but even with the extra means afforded to them, their geographical position will always disadvantage them. I really don't believe that Fylde will ever reach the Football League, a club with no fan base whatsoever can't do it in my opinion.
The remaining traditional bit non-league clubs such as Woking, Telford, Alty etc would now need too many factors to align into place for them to succeed in my opinion.

I'm not 100% sure if we qualify - we were actually in the league for over 50 years - so can we be traditionally non league?

Were we to go up, I could see us spending to try and reach League 1 (I think that's the aim) and emulate Fleetwood in that respect, before settling to become a standard League 2 side like Morecambe and Accrington have become. Geographically, it might always be the case that we're a Manchester club playing our home games and hour and a half away.

As a Sutton fan, I'm just happy to be here (for now). Our aim is to stay up, and I think we should be able to that. It looks as though our title winning team is staying together, and after a 26 game unbeaten run to see us secure the title, they won't lack confidence.

The year Wrexham were relegated down here, we were relegated from the conference south to the Isthmian league and the club was on its arse. Whilst it's not been a quick transformation it's still more than any Sutton fan could have hoped for Paul Doswell took charge in May 2008.

Not being funny, but I think deep down a lot of us feel that there is a real chance that next season could actually be our year.

We've finally got a quality manager, will keep the majority of our best players who finished well clear in second and will spend again to bring in "6-7 top quality players" apparently. Can't see York or Dagenham emulating Cheltenham, and can't see Tranmere doing it with Brabin in charge. We must be strong favourites?

I think you are right about Rovers reaching the league eventually. If you look back at the final league tables for the Conference over the past ten years or so, the majority of teams who regularly finished in the top ten have made it into the Football League. I know that there are no guarantees in football, but think that we will be promoted, maybe not next season, or even the one after, but more than likely within the next four or five. Haven't a clue about Eastleigh though!
