Well, I suppose you could say it's very last chance saloon tonight. Judging by Whitney's team selection, we won't die wondering. could be a very either/or result. We take our chances and we could score a few goals, we don't and the ball doesn't fall for us, we could quickly find ourselves a couple behind with the amount of attacking players we have on the pitch.

Etheridge

Demetriou
O'Connor
Downing
Henry

Morris
Chambers
Forde
Lalkovic

Sawyers
Bradshaw

1st time Morris has started at home in months after some impressive cameo's. Thank god Mantom has been dropped he has been unbearably shit since Chesterfield away. Forde, naturally a winger playing as a secondary central midfielder. Lalkovic, Morris, Sawyers and Bradshaw on the pitch - if we don't score then it just goes to show how we have 'completely lost it'.

Wonder if there will be 4,500 there? Very poor either way.

I like the Saddlers but I have to be hoping Salop get a result tonight purely for selfish reasons.

Mellon actually picks a unchanged team. :eyes:

Time for a lie down in a darkened room.

And.....Here we go.

2-0 up at home cruising..away side scores with their first notable shot on target..

Taking bets on the time of the equaliser.

Then makes a sub after 17 minutes.. forced injury or tactical?

Tactical, it appears that Walsall playing their usual formation completely flummoxed Mellon's pre-match planning. :err:

Meanwhile, two more substitutions and two more changes of formation later and Town are finally making a game of it. Kaikai has been very quiet so far, so he'll hopefully come up with a bit of his customary magic to give us a chance of getting something from the game.

Ironic thing is, we actually played a formation we haven't all season tonight at home, so perhaps that threw you out in fairness.

Good win in the end, with both sides having a couple of chances in the second half. Sounds like we totally dominated the first half, with Shrewsbury not having a shot of note. No surprise that with no real pressure tonight, we won. Can Gillingham hold Burton on Saturday now is the question? Doubt it with their current form.

Not at all surprising to see Walsall win, every time they look like they are about to totally fall apart, they come back with a strong performance/result. The play offs are going to be fascinating because all 4 sides are totally and utterly unpredictable.

We were shocking first half and you can see Walsall are a good side, knocking the ball around with confidence and pace. They didn't create too much to trouble our keeper though but were somehow 2-0 up at the break, the second having an element of good fortune via a deflection.

We came out a different side in the second half, scored a goal and had them a bit paniced for a while, until we ran out of steam. Shame we weren't quite as fortunate with deflections as Walsall were, with one going straight to keeper and another off the bar, but can't really say we deserved too much out of the game based on 1st half performance. Sawyers is a much better player now than when we had him on loan and Bradshaw looks twice the player he was when with us. Well done Walsall!

A fair write up Shrew Fan. Over the balance of 90 minutes I think we deserved a 1 goal win.

After getting our arses handed to us by Bradford on Saturday I have to say I was dreading this game. After about 1 minute though my opinion changed. We came straight out like the pre-christmas Walsall. Passing was quick, crisp and movement off the ball superb. Shrewsbury spent 45 minutes chasing shadows and were restricted to no shots on goal. Lucky deflection for Rico (after a superb run) but 2-0 HT was about right.

At half time a lot of the 'more positive' walsall fans were saying we should kick on to 3, 4 or 5. Not a chance. I knew Shrewsbury would improve and we were in for a game second half. For the neutral that would have been a cracking second half but I spent it watching through my fingers, lol. Big credit to the manager and team for changing things and Shrewsbury were very good. A decent end to end flow to the game. We didnt play badly ourselves but couldn't stamp the same authority on the game.

I had questioned the physicality and bottle of this team after the shoeing we got Saturday. They answered me back and then some so fair lads!! Dug in and competed very well in that second half which was a proper battle.

So its on to Burton v Gills then. Come on Gills you know you want to!! :)

So, are we going to get the opportunity to relegate you in the last game?

Should be a laff
