The Fellaini-Pogba partnership just doesn't work. Pogba is never going to be able to come deep, protect the back line, get forward and support the forwards because Fellaini is about as mobile as an engineless truck.

Usually the two central midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 split the four duties between them, but right now Pogba is playing as if he's asked to do all of them. Similar to the problems he had during the Euros.

I did say just before the season started that a £300k a week player wouldn't sit on the bench, the club wouldn't let it happen regardless of form and it seems that is the case. Some interesting responses from United fans.

Pogba is never going to perform as long as he's tasked with coming deep to get the ball. The space he has to cover is too big.

Pogba has to be given a license to be the one player in the United team to do what he pleases to be truly effective, which under Mourinho is never going to happen. To me they still look very much a side full of some extremely good players than any sort of cohesive team.
