Away at a team we've not beaten on their own patch since 2000. Think we've done better on the road of late due to us setting up more like an away team. I'd happily take a point at this stage.

Another tough game, home to resurgent MK Dons. Getting back on track with a win would be huge.

Would like a win. Will settle for a draw but with Barrow having only won once in their last 6 I'm favouring a win.

Mind you, Doncaster have only won once in their last six and guess who that was against.:ffs:

Feels like it should be a good time to play Stags, but this fixture hasn’t really worked like that in the last couple of decades. Mansfield teams always seem to be able to get themselves up for it in a way ours can’t, and if we turn up and start going ‘they’re pressing us and being mean this isn’t fair’, then we’ll lose it again.

First game was obviously a disaster, but having Jones available for this one on its own gives it a different dynamic. Having the season of his life.

I’d like to see Warner come in because there’s nothing more obvious than Clough going after Brindley in the air, and I’d also start with the pressing and running of Austin over Crowley’s more mercurial stuff then assess after an hour. Would be surprised by that, though.

Are you just as likely to come here and go all out attack as you would under LW? We’ve not won in last 3 at home against teams sitting behind the ball and we can’t deal with it, albeit 2 of the games we’ve gifted them a goal to take the lead in the first 5 minutes.

I feel like the Stags are up for it more is such a poor cop out, we’ve been better than you, it’s nowt to do with one team being up for it more than the other. You lot was massively up for it in the fixture earlier in the season but we just completely nullified you and did a job. Tactically Clough got it spot on.

For what it’s worth I feel like if County are ever going to do a job on us at Field Mill this is your best chance, especially with Jones being in the team too. Let’s see who we bring in next week!

Not quite as likely, but we’ll be pretty similar. We don’t have the players to play massively differently and nor do we want to I don’t think, we just might have five upfront all the time rather than six or seven.

Even when we’ve been better than you it feels like it’s happened at Field Mill. 17/18 be the obvious example for me, we were a decent team that season and finished higher in the league, played you early season when we were at our best and in a title race with Ryan Yates and Jorge Grant, and we got absolutely bullied out of the place 3-0 or something.

I've watched this Nottinghamshire derby for decades now and I lost count a long time of the number of occasions when our lot just aren't up for the battle especially at Field Mill.

I'm sure there are plenty of occasions where we've finished the season higher but not only lost but been pasted at Mansfield.
Who then unsurprisingly would lose to some Joe Average side the very next week cos they couldn't get up for the game after the big derby win. Most of those one sided heavy defeats weren't because the opposition that season was a lot lot better.

Adam Murray's side who visited Meadow Land was a prime example that jumps out. It's been an easy game for the stags manager to get his troops up for.

Stats don't lie.

What is a win?

For us it's not losing by too many, players passing the ball to a team mate at least 50% of the time and not having our manager threatening to punch officials. So yesterday was technically a win.

City 0 Wimbledon 3 or something. Alexander with his "Eh, listen, look, the pitch wasn't great. Listen, we've got to do better. Look, listen, eh, look" copy and paste post match interview.

Its the big one for me though i lived in bridgford hate notts with a passion that even though not equitable to chesterfield means more to me as i suspect it does to county fans who still laughably think they can rival rushcliffe rovers .its probably a view not shared by many stags fans but i just love rubbing their noses in the shit

You don't say , I hadn't noticed

That's because you upgraded somewhere in or near Mansfield to West Bridgford. Depending on when exactly that happened probably meant you saw Notts in the same or higher league than Mansfield for a very long time. Tough times back then.

So very understandable but yeah I suspect not shared by many.

Two teams in good form at Prenton Park on Saturday. We've been good at home under Adkins, apart from the MK match in which we set up a bit too defensively. Dont think we'll do the same against Crewe.

Should be a decent away crowd, would expect over 1000 at least.

Colchester are the one team this season we've played who made us look good....almost.....even.
That was then but this is now.

In theory both sides should be benefitting from a new manager bounce. The great weight lifted by not having Troy Deeney hanging around must be an enormous relief for our lot. And actually having a manager who might actually be up to the job for the first time in well over two years. But you know, for all that Matty Stevens always puts in a shift, and is excellent at what he does, having a striker who can score goals consistently would be even more helpful.

I'm not that worried about our enduring run of defeats against Cowley-led teams, in as much as those teams (Portsmouth in L1, Lincoln in their promotion season from L2 when they were frankly a behemoth that stomped, in some cases more or less literally so, over allcomer) were demonstrably more then pretty decent.

More our enduring run of defeats against everyone.

Still, off to arguably the worse awayday in L2, to a stadium next to a car park and nothing else, that makes the place at MK feel like San Siro, maybe it won't be a complete disaster.

I was, fuck Chesterfield.

Notts is always one to look forward too, great city for boozing in and when it’s a match day down there it’s even better with a few thousands Stags always making the trip. If we could hold on to the autos I hope they come up with us. It’s a decent local derby but not one in which I become suicidal if we lose ie Chesterfield.

Now or never for us. 4 points this week minimum needed or leaving ourselves too much to do.

Thats what i mean ive supported stags since the mid sixties but left mansfield in the mid seventies ,chesterfield is the one who used to give us grief i was there when jimmy mcaffrey scored a last minute winner in the seventies ,but ive got disproportionate hatred of notts so it must be where i actually grew up im a pleasley lad so its not hard to improve my lot

Walsall for us, they seem as all over the place as we are results wise so lord knows. We haven't scored a first half goal in our last 9 I believe so it'd be nice to end that nonsense.

Always enjoy the games even if of late most go your way, haven't seen us win at yours since the 3 2 Hurst winner around around 2005, saw the 3 1 win, 4 3 Cup win 2 0 win all before that.
Grew up on the Forest derby's of the 70s 80s early 90s. Half n Half scarves for sale on Mansfield Market for your cup final :)
