Virtually confirmed now. 3-0 Sunderland. Must be fantastic to relegate your biggest rivals.

Looking forward to going to St James' next season.

Yup, that seals it. Fantastic to see the scum back down at first time of asking. The fact they are actually beating Watford 4-2 makes it a little sweeter, too.

Lets hope we can fucking win a Derby next season. It's been a while... :emb:

Nothing against Newcastle or their fans but im absolutely delighted there coming down because ive never been to Newcastle before and heard its a top away day in every department and another stadium to tick off aswel. What does the away end hold? Im sure every club will sellout at Newcastle next season, just be typical for us to play em midweek night match though.

Hopeful and expectant of Newcastle having a massive clear out. There's a lot of apathy in that dressing room, they are better off rebuilding from the ground up.

Rafa won't stay.

3500 iirc. Bring yourself a new set of lungs though as it's 14 flights of stairs to get to the away area. Cracking laugh when they were last down here, lovely people too.

Was always going to be tough for Norwich, as for newcastle, not sacking McLaren sooner has caused their relegation

Nothing against Newcastle but would love to see them struggle for a couple of seasons, I expect Norwich to be there or there abouts next season. Going to be a tough division next year.

Burnley, Middlesbrough and another replaced by Villa, Norwich and Newcastle, potentially harder teams replacing those leaving.

Bolton, Charlton and MK replaced by Wigan, Burton and another, Wigan better placed then any of the 3 relegated teams to do something, Bolton were a mess and you never know what a team like Burton may bring.

Yep, REALLY starting to sink in now :bg:

I look forward to us taking 59 people to both of these grounds as they're nailed on to be midweek away games for us. Wouldn't mind Newcastle at home to start the season though.

Norwich always struggle in the Premier League but it is quite shocking to see Newcastle back again, what a strange football club.

Newcastle vs Burton as a League fixture. Wonder what odds you would have got for that a decade ago?

All aboard this.

Remember going up to Newcastle when we first reached the Prem, one of the best trips going - especially on a Wednesday evening. We had some top lads up there, great memories, especially ending up stumbling out into the morning after a great night on the tiles.

Hey.

Norwich will probably do well again. Newcastle more of a rebuild job presumably.

Teams like Norwich will always be a threat as they're ready-made to challenge, with the likelihood of keeping a lot of their squad together. Newcastle go into the "who knows" territory.

Never thought I'd see Brentford and Newcastle play in the same league. Genuinely don't know what to do (I mean, 100% supporting Brentford against Newcastle, but it's going to be a really really weird game)

Such a mindfuck of a game. Never had a problem supporting two teams, but it will be genuinely strange this season.

Well for starters we'll struggle to take 250. It's a very good away day but most clubs in this division would have played at St James' Park recently.

I agree with this, I assume Alex Neil will remain Norwich manager and they'll keep most of their squad together, in which case I'd expect them to be challenging at the top. As for Newcastle... who knows?

Three things are always certain in life if you support Wigan: death, taxes and beating Newcastle at the DW. I think we've played them eight times at home and won seven of them. Never won at St James Park though. Hope it's not a Tuesday night game.

Not so certain then?

No chance of a bigger allocation than 3k? Don't imagine Newcastle will have many sell outs next year especially against the likes of us.

Not convinced the league will be tougher next season either. Burnley and Boro would definitely have been up there again and as would all 4 play off sides. Don't think Villa, Burton or any of the L1 play off winners will do well.

It's why you shouldn't support two teams...
Got my reasons why I do. Family all support Newcastle historically, and I grew up near Brentford so have had a season ticket since I was 10. Will always support Brentford first, but given the family connection nothing wrong in my books supporting the Toon as well.

It happened barely 20 years ago.

So only Burton as a new ground for me, regardless who wins the L1 play offs. Be nice to have Newcastle away early in the season on a Saturday, Villa will definitely be a Sunday noon, and well, I'm not driving to Norwich again regardless.

The league definitely looks stronger next season, our remote chances of pinching play off spaces look even less likely next year.
