Not sure where you have that from, I don't think we got anywhere near that for Quigley.
Yeah everything suggested from this end was that it didn’t reach six figures. Though I’m sure a promotion clause was probably built in so you made some extra money yesterday.

With Walsall I’d wait and see if their owner actually backs up his words with actions. If so Flynn is a bloody good manager but not if his hands are tied.
Exactly fans are losing patience now.

Well actually that was what sparked my question - 250k is a lot for NL, no doubt. It’s sizeable for L2, but how far does that go?

Would you pay 500k? Can you afford £1m?

I guess what I’m asking is, what’s the aim and how rich is this owner? Back to L1? The Champ? Further?
The long-term aim is the Championship but tbh I’ve no idea what we’ll look to spend this summer.

The three players we’ve been linked with so far are all out of contract in Callum Camps, George Miller and Connor Lemonheigh-Evans.

Personally I’d love us to go all out for some of the best non-Wrexham under contract players in the NL like Tshimanga, McAtee and Cameron but we’ll just have to wait and see what we do.

We’re looking to expand the ground and we are now renting a state of art training facility but will be looking to build one sooner rather than later as well. So lots of investment is going into stuff off the field as well.

On your first point yes this year except Rochdale they all did pretty well but them you have your Chesterfield, Southends etc who went straight down again plus the likes of Scunny, Oldham who lasted a couple of seasons and then the likes of Walsall who haven't done much? Crewe look likely to struggle to me but then who knows.

Stockport are a bit different to others who've gone up. They've got loads of cash, invested well in infrastructure, a top manager and a squad that as it stands would at least be top 10 here. There is a gap between the leagues, its not huge and can be bridged once you adapt a bit. That said the top teams here are stronger than anything we ever faced in the NL but with a few signings and plenty of time to prepare, I expect them to have a strong season.

If we stay down i don’t see any of them being coming down being any better than those who finished in the playoffs

They’re an NFT now.

Surely a crawley must be a dream to some in the conference.

I actually don’t even know where some of the places are in the conference let alone anything about them.

I mean next season dorking could be in it for christ’s sake.

I heard a bit from my mate when I went against Swindon. What has he promised for Flynn ? Do you know a budget ?
No mate but he promises a lot and makes excuses and shifts the blame when it fails.

That’s what I loved about NL at the same time though. Going to random villages where it feels like FA Cup 1st round or something.

Although, we bounced right back up. Which probably helped

Yeah, when we’d had 3 seasons of the same it got a bit boring, especially when you’re losing 4-0 at hayes and yeading infront of about 7 people haha.

We had a rude awakening and lost to sides like Altrincham & Braintree within the first couple of months.
Luckily we got our shit together and won the play offs.
I remember Barnet trying to force some kind of rivalry with us, pretty tinpot stuff.
Nice to dip your toes in but wouldnt want to stay there for any extended length of time.

To be fair I actually enjoyed our second spell in the NL League, it does feel like an EFL 3 at the moment with so many traditional ex league clubs and even most of the cannon fodder towards the bottom are getting good attendances.

I’m glad to be back in the football league but feel nowhere near the same sense of relief as when we got out of the NLN after six long years.

At least when you come to Bradford now you won’t have to play at a dump out of town with a running track around it, had no idea you spent that long in NLN thought it was a season or two!

It took us until the 5th season to even reach the playoffs.

Good to see a proper EFL club back amongst us.
I,d like Wrexham to make it, but I think they may struggle.
Hate to say this but Solihull are mean.

Solihull Moors seem to be brutal hoofers from what little I've seen, the unsullied spirit of higher-end non-league. Saying they are "the heirs to the Crazy Gang" would be giving them too much credit, but given that Wycombe got to the Championship with a not dissimilar style, and may well get there again soon, I suppose there is a purpose to such an approach. They ain't no Barrowcelona that's for sure.

They're not actually that bad this season in terms of long balls etc when we've played them. They've actually got some tidy little ball players in midfield. They do have a 6 foot 9 striker though who they bring on in the last 15 minutes. My main gripe with Solihull was their constant time wasting and feigning injury etc against us which backfired as we scored in injury time. But it's rare for a club at NL not to to do all that, particularly when they were coming here this season as we were sitting top etc and they would have ran home if you'd offered them a 0-0. But I see time wasting just as bad in Premier League, Champions League games so I imagine I'll still see plenty of it next season here.

Funnily enough, Wrexham are the long ball baddies with that Ben Tozer. Every throw in no matter where it is on the pitch at the Racecourse is a towel event that takes forever. And of course when it's right near your box it's deadly.

Yeah it was quite fun visiting random village clubs and such, but like others have said the novelty wears off after a while and I wouldn’t fancy going back down there.

Don’t worry you’ll see plenty of it and the feigning of injuries, it’s got far worse across football last 5-10 years. Now everytime the game has to be stopped when someone’s holding their head, guess what players do…

I get to hear it every year that a side will come up from the National League and roll straight through League Two - how often does it ACTUALLY happen though? From memory, I recall Exeter doing it in 08/09, and Bristol Rovers a few years ago. I'm pretty sure Crawley did it too, but bar that I'm struggling!
Yeovil too I think, but that was a long time ago.
