I actually think our squad under McEwan was even better than the one we went up with, Donaldson, Neal Bishop and Woolford, all gone on to have good football league careers, we combined the flair of Mills' side with a tough side that was perfect for this division, if we'd gone up then I honestly think we'd be in a much better position right now and never come back down.

Last time I was at Dagenham, it was Jackson's final game (3-0 loss). Probably the worst Lincoln performance I've ever sat through.

Never been to York.

Wouldn't class reaching the heights of League One (albeit for one season) in their spell as "unsuccessful"; Barrow can only dream of such achievements.

Think you need to rephrase.

As I've said previously, just for me personally, York is the one I want to take six points from next season. I was at uni there, now I live here etc.

unsuccessful as in didn't manage to stay in the league long enough and become a long established league club...
we've been in division 1 (step 3) before although it was called division 3 then - so been there done that - we spent 50 years in the league remember......

Indeed, beat them 3-0 on my 13th birthday after they had won all their first four matches of the season IIRC and then dicked them 4-1 at their place. They went down after being something ridiculous like 6th/7th in December/January.

That's the two mate.
From memory they won the first four then hardly won a game the rest of the season.
Just looked won 6 all season and not at all after January 10th.
I was sadly a little bit older....

Are you going to be lumbered with players, or like Cheltenham where just about everyone is out of contract? TheMinsterman Leewilson Murphy Cheese & Biscuits

Pretty sure most of ours are on 1 or 2 year deals and will be shot of in the summer. Complete rebuilding job needed and Still's already set those wheels in motion. We'll be predominantly plucking players from lower down (or the Conference), with one or two added from elsewhere, I'd assume. I reckon 5-8 will stay from the current crop, but not many. From what I've heard our budget is going to take a hammering.

What has probably changed since yorks last stint in the confrence is amount of cash rich clubs comeing up from confrence north and south. Dont write yourselves off if you come down look at cheltenham. Anyhow has a shovel been put in ground for new stadium?

yep - Eastleigh*, Forrest Gump*, Barrow plus possibly AFC Fylde and Webbedfeet coming up are all backed
then you've got YUUUUUGE clubs like Tranmere*, Grimsby* and Wrexham and even Lincoln
(* one of these might go up after the play offs)

And darlington, maybe stockport

I think FCUM, Darlington, Stockport, Boston, Halifax? Alty? Kidderminster? Tamworth, Nuneaton, Stalybridge, North Feriby and possibly Blyth/Salford makes Conf North a very strong feeder league next season and very hard to get out of

Absolutely. I would be surprised to see FCUM get relegated next year. They need some major strengthening. Can see us struggling too.

FCUM seam to struggle the first season they go up, but 2nd season push on more - I would be surprised if they were not top 6 or 8 next season

I read that as "...will be shot in the summer...". Ruthless.
