Some gameplay footage from Fallout 4 would be ace.

Some more Uncharted gameplay would be nice. Hopefully see something from Sony's first party studios, they've been quiet for a while.

The interesting one for me, but I personally cannot afford it now is the release of this new Spectrum computer, which should just connect to a TV and let you play lots of games in original format.

I am interested to see what it has and how it plays.

Aisha Tyler or someone like her just bombing on stage with corny forced jokes.

CG trailers for games that tell us nothing.

A buzzword for EA to use. (Last year it was "feel")

I hate Aisha Taylor, irritating lanky bint.

And Christ, Andrew House has really small hands.

Edited that a bit for you there pal.

But yeah, I always look forwards to E3. We can expect the usual stuff, a couple new IP's that look great and should see more of the likes of Uncharted 4 and get glimpses of things like Mass Effect 4. Wouldn't expect any consoles or whatever... a lot of talk of this new Nintendo console thing, but surely it's too soon unless it's something really unique and innovative?

A new Nintendo console??? They're becoming a bit desperate I think. Not that its a bad thing, the Wii U sales were very poor after all.

I'm also looking forward to Uncharted 4 Even though I never completed any of them, I enjoyed what I played.

You could have at least edited out the spelling errors.

Not for a few years yet I would imagine. Firstly because they wouldn't bin the WiiU off this quickly? but also because they don't even have a main live performance at E3 which you would think they would do for a console introduction.

WiiU was just a joke really, not enough improvements and the advertising of it was poor that many people just thought it was a Wii addition. The main thing which annoyed me though was that it rushed Sony and Microsoft into launching their new consoles soon after. Think they would have held back a year or two without that pressure and we won't have had this long period after the launch of the PS4 and XBone with a lack of new games.

Seems unlikely that Sony and Microsoft would have been rushed into anything given several major developers were already developing software for it. Also, Nintendo, and Microsoft and Sony are competing for completely different market share. An XBox live user isn't going to defect to Nintendo, but he might to Sony.

Doubt they were rushed into anything.

PS2 came out 2000
PS3 came out 2006
PS4 came out 2013.

PS3 gen was longer than most.

PS3/Xbox360 gen was the first that really developed over time. The consoles improved massively from launch, almost unrecognisable. Constant development meant that a longer window for the generation was possible. I doubt sales of the systems had slowed down greatly either.

May not have been 'rushed' but I do believe the WiiU coming out did make the PS4/XBone launches earlier. The lack of any games coming out for either system suggests that there wasn't a lot ready. We're at the stage where the consoles have both been out 18/19 months and yet in my opinion there still isn't a game yet that sells either console. Almost all games that have come out on the systems are either remastered games of the previous gen or graphically superior versions of games that are still coming out on PS3/360.

I also don't believe that Sony/Microsoft and Nintendo users are completely different sections of the market. As bad as the WiiU is, with a solid game line up it would probably be better than the PS3/360, and this is what could have caused the current gen consoles to be rushed. Not necessarily to compete with the WiiU, but to stop the WiiU competing with the PS3/360. Also Sony/Microsoft couldn't just ignore Nintendo, they are a massive gaming company and could have easily used the early advantage to steal a massive advantage in sales and market share. Just because in hindsight it didn't happen, doesn't mean they weren't planning for the possibility.

There's rumours circulating about the new Nintendo console being out next year to be fair. This is due to the massive flop of the WiiU, they're apparently releasing a console to compete with the Xbone and the PS4. We'll see how that turns out, because for me, Nintendo haven't had a good console since the Gamecube. Loads of people bought Wii's, only to barely use the things. I know I for one did.

The hardware had been maxed out by triple A devs. Not to the extent of the contrast between that of the PS2/Xbox and PS3/360 but enough that better hardware was neccesary.

Launch titles are invariably scarce or underwhelming. It took the XBox two years to find quality 2nd or third party support outside of Bungee. Devs are also not going to blindly develop software for release in a saturated market. Even if they had supreme confidence in their product, they would have had nothing to compare it to, essentially spending millions, if not hundreds of millions, of dollars to develop and market a game that in the end may have fallen well short of the standard of specs, physics, etc, that their peers had eked out of the new hardware. That's one of the main reasons why big publishers don't option titles for console launch dates.

I also don't believe that Sony/Microsoft and Nintendo users are completely different sections of the market. As bad as the WiiU is, with a solid game line up it would probably be better than the PS3/360, and this is what could have caused the current gen consoles to be rushed. Just because in hindsight it didn't happen, doesn't mean they weren't planning for the possibility.

Of course it's naive to say that Sony and Microsoft could afford to ignore Nintendo, but the former two companies have strong enough brand identity that their business strategies are always going to be proactive as opposed to reactive (except when in direct competition with each other, which I'll touch upon in a moment) . There is gamer demographics overlap, of course, but Nintendo offer an almost completely different product. That overlapping demographic will always buy Nintendo plus one other, but Sony and Microsoft have nearly always marketed towards 'mature' gamers, particularly the 18-30 demographic, with online and social gaming as its core appeal. You only had to look at E3 2013 to see where Microsoft and Sony thought their biggest competition was: directly against each other. Each presentation and press release was a series of strikes and counter strikes (no pun intended), where the broadly similar features of each console were being played off against each other in an increasingly petty PR war: 'The XBone will have to be online to be playable!', 'Sony is trying to trick you into buying titles you already own!', 'Microsoft won't let you play pre-owned games, etc.'

Nintys next thing isnt even confirmed to be a console. It could be a handheld.

Or some sort of cross between them device like thry said they might do.

They're only doing an hour long direct anyway so it wont be on there. Not if they're planning on showing any games too.

I actually want to see:

Something new from Sucker Punch. InFAMOUS would be great, but so would Sly Cooper.
Something from Quantic Dream. I love their games.
Maybe something from Guerilla Games. Been rumoured that they're working on an RPG.

Also, what the fuck are Sony Santa Monica up to? GIVE US SOMETHING, YOU TARTS.

A friend of mine also showed me Tom Clancy. It looks quite interesting actually, for a person who isn't the biggest fan of shooter games.

Anything by Square Enix interests me also. I think Final Fantasy XV will be talked about, but can they revive the series is the question.

They said before it came out that any potential sequel depends on the sales in the west.
The sales absolutely crushed their expectations. Level 5 are announcing a ps4 exclusive at e3.

Reasonable assumption is NNK2

Ah cool... I knew about them smashing their sales targets, but I didn't know they were due an announcement. That's fucking made my day! E3 can't come soon enough...

Actually, saying that, isn't that oculus rift thing at like 6pm today? E3 IS HERE! (sort of)
