I wanted Ayla for a girl, but my dad ended up mentioning it to his brother who just happened to have a girl a couple months later.

When I had hamsters I was working through the Fawlty Towers cast. So I feel with kids I'd have to raise the bar a bit. Maybe Aragorn for a boy and Galadriel for a girl.

If we're going on a football theme then how about

King Tony Ian
&
Womble Fucked

(the first sounds a bit wanky given I've anointed him a monarch, but on balance I think the latter has probably drawn the short straw. Probs a good thing I'll almost certainly never have children)

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Some of us already have kids. At the moment, I'm mainly calling her 'don't do that, you'll break something'...

Cuthbert? :10: I'm not having any more bloody kids either but if I was I'd name them after myself. I've never been allowed before but I'd put my foot down. Oli 2 sounds pretty damn cool.

I quite like the name Francesca for a girl, Connor for a boy.

My dad reckons he called me Thomas because of Tommy Mooney and apparently it was a great football name whatever the fuck that means. My mum insists I was named after her grandad. I prefer the Tommy Mooney story though.

My brother is Charles George. Again, my Dad maintains he was named after the Arsenal player and my mum denies.

Joe/James for a boy and Emma (don't laugh) or Hannah for a girl.

I much prefer Tommy to Thomas. My mum hates people calling me that so I make sure everyone does call it me just to annoy her.

All very well, but you can't account for a name later being used in popular culture. I named my eldest daughter Nicole but the Renault Clio ads hit the TV screens about the time she started school. To this day, she won't answer when called Nicole and insists on being called Nicki.

A friend of mine is called Jonathan, so everyone calls him Jon. His mum hates it and insists that everyone calls him by his full name (which I don't do of course). His old man is called Peter and everyone calls him Pete. His mum hates that too. However, she's called Patricia, but insists on being called Pat. It's weird how people work sometimes.
