Has to be Dean Ashton the king for me..
just for the fact he did it in the championship when we were right up there with the best.
just a class act and to see him doing it int he prem as well
He made 1 app for England. Career was ended by Shaun Wright-Phillips, the little useless twat.Ashton was class, wasn't he injured on England duty, or just been named in the squad or something? Born in Swindon.
Remember him and Hulse taking the piss in a 0-3 win for Crewe at the County Ground and coming away thinking what a side.
Of all time no doubt Alan Woodward who died last Thursday, only seen video clips but looked a class act !
As for in my lifetime, not a lot to choose from but will go for Phil Jagielka !
Ashton played in the championship for us. Tearing championship defenders apart. he then went onto play for west ham, Norwich and England. Nick Powell was emmence but he was league two and he's done nothing since leaving us really.Deano was immense obviously, easily the 2nd best for me. He couldn't do half the things Powell could do though.
I remember the game at BP in the 02/03 season, think you finished 2nd and we finished 5th, Ashton and Hulse tore us to bits and you won 3-1.Dean Ashton, without a shadow of a doubt. Not just my life time, probably best ever. He could/should have gone on to play at the very, very top. Absolutely gutted when he broke his ankle, devastated when he retired.
