Somebody on our forum has mentioned that FGR v Tranmere, the penultimate game of season for both clubs, could well be a defining game for both teams.
A title decider :2thumb: or match where one or other loses an auto promotion spot.

Over the past few years our two teams have been involved in more than one high profile 'end of season' game and the prospects of this being same look HIGH.

FGR v Tranmere has a short life-line but they've met in two promotion play-offs.
I think after Cheltenham, Tranmere is the team most FGR fans look forward to meeting.
Why`s that? It is because they enjoy watching us dance on your pitch. Sadly due to Covid that probably won`t happen but very little would give us greater pleasure than to win promotion , possibly the Title, at your place in front of your jackass of an owner and that miserable bitter sod Cooper

Latest prediction table after last nights based on short, medium and long term form. Predicted points in ( ).

Almost the perfect set of results for those that didn't play. Tranmere looked like they were happy for a point last night which leads me to believe Hill is happy to chip away at Cambridge and possibly has a target in his head needed to make top 3. I'd have loved to have more adventure as Grimsby were definately there to be beat.

It is getting really tight at the top now and this weekends set of fixtures will have significant ramifications on how this table looks come 5pm Saturday.

Top 3 looks like it is going to be anyone from the top 6 on the list below, the playoffs realistically look like being between the 6 above, plus one from Newport, Morecambe and Crawley.

Anyone outside that group probably needs a minimum of 2 points a game for the rest of the season to make the playoffs.

1 Cheltenham (82.7)
2 FGR (82.7)
3 Tranmere (80.1)

4 Bolton (79)
5 Cambridge (78)
6 Exeter (78)
7 Morecambe (74.3)

8 Newport (71.6)
9 Crawley (70)
10 Bradford (68.8)
11 Salford (68)
12 Harrogate (65)
13 Carlisle (64.3)

Once again the top 3 should be relegated due to Cheating with the final points table
If you prediction is to be believed we will be playing Exeter in the final at Wembley.
I will look for Devon Lad in the royal box due to his connections

I agree. 80 or 81 should see an automatic place.

What happened to the new Carlisle fan that come on here saying the fixture congestion wouldn't affect his team?

I probably just went for you guys to win a whole load of games!

TBH You all seem in good form.

3/4 wins out of 5 with the odd draw or defeat.

I suspect it was an alternative HG account. His optimistic alter ego that he used while he wasn't posting on the forum.
I can 100% guarantee I don’t have any other account.

What makes you suspicious? And what was the name out of curiosity?

And I can (almost) guarantee that ''Carver'' is a duplicate account. HG says it's not him so that leaves Shoddy.........

Just the fact that he was as optimistic as you are pessimistic, and appeared right around your hiatus began.

kendalcufc it was

Had a look, kendalcufc was posting in 2017, then stopped until December last year, he/she has been posting on and off since then.

If I wanted to make another account for when I’m off the forum, I wouldn’t do it in 2017. And I wouldn’t name it kendalcufc.

If you project current points per games played over 46 games then 83 points wins the title currently FGR, automatic 79 is enough currently Cheltenham and Tranmere, 4th Cambridge, 4 teams are within a point of each other for the other places, with the head to heads and nerves kicking in i expect a lower total may be enough. I notice an earlier post mentions Short, medium and long term form and places Bolton in 4th, well that's encouraging because you can forget long term this is a totally different Bolton Team If we average 2 points a game we are going up automatic we have averaged 2.63 over the last 11 games if that continues its the champions for us. of course that may not be the case but i wont back against it . Hello by the way i'm new

Welcome and a post I agree with.
BUT some applies to all leading clubs - win every home game till end of season and draw all away and auto promotion is in the bag.
Currently Bolton are 4 pts [with minus GD] adrift of an auto place, That is a big ask to make up so close to end of season, especially with two other clubs above you trying to do same.

Squeaky bum times ahead.

I think you're forgetting we are giving up any play off spot and giving it to the 8th placed team.

There seems to be multiple head to heads every weekend for the next few weeks. If anyone does well in them they can probably get the autos. If you're not playing in one you need to win to take advantage.

Think we only have Forest Green currently above us, and Exeter who could be above us.

Tranmere have the current top 3 to play.

I've been getting anxious every time we play recently. Not sure I'm ready for the playoffs!

Nice to see some more Bolton fans on here rather than just the token village idiot throwing out brain sharts randomly.

That said, it looks like we are going to be passing like ships in the night given their current form and our absolutely pathetic attempt in League 1 this season which is a shame as I'd have liked to have gone to the Reebok when fans were allowed back.

The Lg2 forum certainly has more life to it than Lg1, its like Harold Shipman's waiting room there at times.

Is a 4 point deficit with 10 games plus (30 points to gain) such a big ask? I'd say a 10 point deficit with 10 games to play is a big ask. Formwise Bolton are projecting upwards whereas the other sides are dropping points with inconsistency.

Looking at the table, it's a fascinating race for promotion, if Carlisle and Exeter can win their games in hand they become part of the equation and its all to play for.

Bolton are 9/1 to win the league. I'm tempted to have a nibble at that.
