I think it's fair to say that EURO 2016 hasn't been a great tournament for the megastars top scorers.

Robert Lewandowski. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Harry Kane have all been pretty quiet. But Perharps the biggest dissapointment has been Cristiano Ronaldo.

We know he's one of the greatest the game has ever produced and he'ss be named among legends of Real Madrid. Euro 2016 might just be his last chance at international glory. He'll be 33 by the next world cup if Portugal even qualifies and this was the moment he was supposed to show us that he can single handedly drag his nation to glory after failing to do that in 6 other international tournaments.

Ronaldo is never related to the term "Ugly" but that's what his stats have been at the Euros. He's had 20 shots, which after the 2nd round of matches was the highest of any player and higher than 9 of the competing nations.

The game against Austria was a nightmare; missing a penalty, getting caught offside constantly and adding to his ridiculous free kick statistics. He's taken 36 international tournament free kicks now and has scored none. About time someone else tried.

So is CR7's abilities in decline? For me it's an absolute NO for two reasons.

Cristiano Ronaldo is used to getting the best service from the worlds best players. That is why he has been exceeding 50 goals for 6 consecutive seasons. There is simply not enough quality around him right now to make him shine.

Secondly the 31-year-old is human for goodness sake. He struggled with injuries towards the end of last season and definitely wasn't 100% in the champions league final. He played 53 times last season and i honestly think the guy just needs a rest.

We can expect another good domestic season from Ronaldo after he has had a week or two on a yacht surrounded by gorgeous women.

Or could that be the reason why he is puffed??

Or how about he's been a flat track bully for years now and on the big occasion, like the past 2 CL finals they were in, he's had to be BALE'd out by his teammates cos he's not turned up. His teammates in the national side don't know they've got to dig him out of a hole when there's an important game as they actually expect his talent to match his ego. And there's no fucking chance of that!

Well, he made sure his team won't get eliminated.
But the Magyars were tough this time around. They haven't won against Portugal since time forgotten but they almost did it this time.... almost.

He's still an unbelievable player but his game has changed significantly. He operates as much more static target, more of a typical front man (although for Real Madrid he often still starts from a wide position). His goal ratio is ridiculous, no matter what anyone says, there were valid criticisms at the beginning of the season that he was stat padding against the weak teams and disappearing against the better ones, he did then turn up with the winner at the Nou Camp and rescued Real Madrid against Wolfsburg. He is still very capable but maybe easier for better defenders to keep quiet now. On top of this his selfish attitude is repugnant and will lead to much criticism of him generally, some of it harsh but most of it brought on by his own behaviour. I think he'll play one more year for Real Madrid and then move to a PSG, where he can continue to smash records with ease.

He has never performed for the national team. Not in the same league of Figo, Rui Costa, Maniche, etc.
