Fair enough, it's great that he's wiped his mums debts. But I'm pretty sure most footballers would do this for their parents. They just don't go and announce it publicly on social media, for people to heap praise on them!

I thought that was a bit weird too. I think some of Mings's other gestures have been great, but I'm sure most professional footballers give financial support to their families without expecting recognition.

Local news have far less "exciting" news to report than national news, they have to report something and this is a feelgood story so why not.
