I thought that was a bit weird too. I think some of Mings's other gestures have been great, but I'm sure most professional footballers give financial support to their families without expecting recognition.

Because it's local news.

Local news have far less "exciting" news to report than national news, they have to report something and this is a feelgood story so why not.

It was the second highest story on the BBC Championship page, but appears to have disappeared on to just the Ipswich page now.

Match of the Day had it on their Facebook page earlier too :lol:
