No thread had been started so I have obliged..

Wigan are in good form, you can see things finally coming together for them...

Shrewsbury are better on the road but will have their work cut out this weekend.

All match discussion in here please.

It's been 3 weeks since our last league game and the debacle at Port Vale, surely can't perform as badly again. Wigan will be a tough place to go, would take a point now, but will predict a 2-0 home win.

The plus for Shrewsbury is Kaikai should be back for this game, although it looks like we won't be able to keep him when his loan expires in January with Championship teams reportedly sniffing around.

Wouldn't like to predict what our lineup will be. About the closest thing to a certainty will be Leutwiler in goal. Interesting to see how much extra fitness Zak Whitbread, Anthony Gerrard and Ian Black have managed in the last fortnight.

How good is the lad on loan from Palace and what position does he play? We're supposedly one of the many teams looking at him for Jan.

I saw Preston were one of the ones after Kaikai, along with Blackburn and I think I've seen Charlton as well. He's been our stand out player so far this season, not a ringing endorsement I know! He's very highly thought of at Palace. He came initially as a winger, which is his main position, but has proved effective playing just behind a front man as well. He's very direct, likes to run with the ball and to try and beat a man and got a cross or a shot away and chipped in with 4 goals. There's also a good understanding developing with Larnell Cole who we have on loan from Fulham, both seem to be on a different wavelength to some of our players.

I'd love Kaikai to stop with us for the rest of the season, but wouldn't be surprised to see a Championship side take him on in January, especially as we're struggling. For me, Kaikai is a much better prospect at his age than when a Chris Humphrey was with us!

Shrewsbury are better on the road but will have their work cut out this weekend.

Our away stats are distorted by a good start, but we've lost our last four away in League 1 and five our our last six away trips with the game at lowly Gainsborough being the exception.

Anything other than a home win would be a big surprise and a real bonus for Town.

I hope none of our players read Mellon's recent comments about Wigan as they'll have an inferiority complex going into this game, which is difficult enough already.

"When you look around and see the team they can put out, it’s a squad you’d be very impressed with in the Championship. I went to watch them a week last Tuesday and on Saturday and they bring off one household name and bring on another. They have a squad lavished with talent that we can all be very envious of."

Nobody would be surprised by that result. Wigan were dominant 1st half without creating many clear cut chances, fully deserving the goal. Revell was a handful up front and Wildschut on the left caused the recalled Grandison all sorts of problems.

2nd half Salop came back into the game, Kaikai going close from a free kick and forcing a save from the keeper with another effort. Wigan took control again as the game wore on and deserved the win.

We were unlikely to pick up anything, but setting up for a 0-0 from the off with little attacking outlet is asking for trouble, and with our defensive record this year likely to lead to a defeat.

Black certainly adds some bite to our midfield. Put in a few crunching tackles, tho the one on Jacobs which saw the Wigan man limp off looked naughty, but not deemed a foul by Mr Deadman who also let an equally late one go on Grandison a bit later on.

Wigan will be up the top for the rest of the season, whilst we've got a looonnnngggg winter to look forward to. Next 4 league games are Sheffield United (a), Gillingham (h), Walsall (h) & Peterborough (a)
