We never beat Wigan, even when they're shit (see the home fixture). Assuming we continue giving the ball away in dangerous areas, then Wigan will win this and keep their slim survival hopes alive.

Wigan 1-0 Derby

The mighty Rams!!!
What's the pitch like at the ground? Heard there was the rugby game on Saturday when they were playing Boro.

As with Rammy I don't fancy our chances. Wigan epitomise a bogey team. Even when they were in league 1 and we were in the premiership they came to pride park and battered us (think it was an Ellington hatrick).

So yeah - 3-1 loss this I reckon :-(

I think we'll smash 'um. 4-1 Derby.

Obviously there's absolutely no evidence of why this will happen and we'll more than likely carry on our faltering run.

Love an Easter Bank Hol, certainly beats being at work and what better way to spend it than watching football.

Don't understand this team. Four changes. There's been far too many changes this season, can't remember many occassions at all where we've played the same team two games running.

Grant, Forsyth, Keogh, Hendrick, Ward, Russell, Hughes, Ince, Albentosa, Warnock, Bent

SUBS: Roos, Christie, Martin, Dawkins, Lingard, Whitbread, Hanson

If they sit back, and make it difficult for us they will. One stupid mistake from our error prone defence will win them the game.

We've been woeful apparently.

If we don't make playoffs this season, then I'm not sure what I would think if Mac goes. Of course, I would rather him stay but it's turned from 'Certainly not' to 'Maybe'. Not sure what's happening but it isn't good.

Just as I say that Martin comes on for the second half and has already scored. What a player he is, so essential to how we play.

Wigan will be 8 points adrift with 5 play to play if it stays as it is.No chance of staying up now.

Finally! That second half was much more like the Derby we've seen for the majority of the season.

First half was pretty horrific, Wigan dominating without causing us too much hassel bar one great save from Grant.
The game changed 5 minutes into the half time interval when Chris Martin ran out with his kit on and started warming up. You could sense the confidence and belief building as soon as he came out. What an impact too, the noise when his foot connected with that football was beautiful. He was fucking class. Flick ons, link up, ball retention, those freekicks he wins.. Everything we've missed was there and on display. The effect he had on us as a team was unbelievable, such a shame he's been out for 12 games.

Wasn't a fan of the changes before KO and I don't think they were convincing enough to stay with it. Hopeully we'll revert back to something a little less mental on Saturday and for the run in.

Hughes was very good again second half, great work for our second. When he's spraying 40 yard cross field passes with his weaker foot you know he's having a good day. Warnock was solid too, deserved his ovation.

A much needed win, big game next Saturday now, hope we can push on from here.

Chris Martin must be the best free signing this league has seen for years, yet quite a few people think there are 2/3 better strikers in this division.

Let's hope every manager thinks the same. We don't want others to come sniffing if we don't go up.

McClaren will probably take him when he goes to Newcastle

I'm pretty sure he'd try and get Hughes, if he does go. Which will only result in Liverpool taking advantage of the first refusal they apparently have.

Ah yes, the legend that is Clarke. What happened to Andy Delort anyway? Supposed to be the next Messi before the season and look how he turned out

I think he's back on loan to the French club they signed him from. It's funny because at the start of the season there were about 4 or 5 teams in this division scrambling for his signature, namely Wolves, Brentford, Charlton, Wigan and a couple of others. With hindsight I think were all grateful to Wigan for the fact they probably all saved us from about 2-3 million quid, he's terrible.

The biggest cheer from the Wigan fans yesterday was when Leon Clarke's number was put up by the fourth official for his substitution.

Must be bad when you're that shit that even your own fans cheer when you get substituted like that... Sadly he is just clearly out of his depth and Championship level and always has been.

The commentator on 5Live was certainly surprised by it. He thought the Wigan fans were actually cheering the arrival of Martyn Waghorn rather than taking the piss out of Clarke.
