Looking on Google maps to work it out, the place where there was a bit of a punch up after the match was the Clarence Hotel. Looks really good from the outside but it's an absolute dive inside. The one we sneaked into after and got into a little altercation ourselves was, I'm sure (we'd drunk alot so memory is hazy), the Swan & Railway. That was a shit hole too.
There's a reason I didn't list either of those two pubs on my recommendations. That side of the road was a no, no. Don't say you went in to Last Orders next to the Post Office too? Clarence Hotel is where all the alcoholics queue up to get in at about 9am. The little place next to that is where all the homeless people hang out ha, in a huge error of judgement by someone that I was out with the other week, actually ended up in that place next door and it absolutely stank, with an average age of 80 on a Friday night.
If you had walked on the other side of the road you had The Berkeley, Little Fifteens, Boulevard, The Raven, Moon Under Water and John Bull Chophouse all pretty much in a row and all much better.
