That'll do, not losing was the most important thing. Thought we defended really well for the last 20 minutes or so, prevented Wolves creating any clear chances.

Agree with all the above posts. Ipswich came with a gameplan of not to lose and executed it very well. For all the extra possession and shots we had we couldn't brake them down. Think that's the end of our play off chances but still been a great season.

On the bright side at least we can send Wigan down on their own patch next week!

That would be nice. Hopefully we have identified some targets. He was dreadful today but Sako will need replacing after he leaves. And we need another CM if we are going to insist with 442. I know Dicko and Afobe are a great pair but we don't have the personal for 442.

swich boss Mick McCarthy:

"Wolves were in the ascendancy in the second half but we have had a great, stubborn, belligerent, professional performance - all those horrible words people don't like in football but I do because you win games and win leagues by doing that.

"We are always hard to beat and hard to play against. The first thing I said to the players in the dressing room after the game was what a belligerent, stubborn, hard working, tough, horrible bunch you have turned out to be and I love you and I am proud of you because you need all those qualities to be a good team. It is lovely to have."

Here here. I have never felt closer to a town side. We never lye down and I fucking love it.

It's good to have those qualities, especially in this division, but sadly it's never worked in the Premier League for MM. I'd rate him as one of the best managers in recent history to coach in the 2nd tier of English football, I just think that is his limit.

Yeah I am the same, will always value McCarthy. For me he is the best Wolves manager I have seen, I have him above Turner as part of me feels that a lot of his success was tied to Bull and Mutch and the not particularly sophisticated manner we used them.

People say that getting rid of McCarthy was a mistake, however my issue was that we held on too long to him. He needed to go a month before he was sacked. The team was in freefall and we have lost valuable points to the easier looking fixtures. That would have given someone nearly 2 months prior to the transfer window to try something.
