RefWatch; Ref for Wombles v Wycombe game (played 8, W4, D2, L2) is Phillip Gibbs, 50, head teacher at Kings Heath Boys School in Birmingham. Ref since 2008. Strict disciplinarian, so is used to vigorously pounding young boys from behind with his massive rod. Has a fun side too, says he puts on the school panto every Christmas - this year it's the old Wombles classic Snow White & The 7 Points Deduction, with Jermaine Darlington playing Bashful, our Club Secretary playing Dopey, Alan Turvey as the Wicked Witch, and kids favourite Jeff Winter as Fucktits McWankstain. They're appearing at Northampton before Xmas (well, the points deduction definitely is), tickets £10.25 million, available from Cardoza & Son, behind the town hall, (cash only, preferably used £50s, no receipts or refunds).
Injured a lot, has only done 2 games this season & 19 last season. Well, he is 50 and spends his days whipping young Brummie ass, must be very tiring. Reffed Wombles once, 2-1 defeat at Stevenage in Jan (2Y). Reffed Wycombe 5 times (W3 L2, 16Y, 2R & 2 pens), most recently the 3-1 away win at Shrimps in Oct last year. Hates the scum. Reffed them once against Owls & they lost & had a scum sent off. Hates them. Oooh, top man, sir. Home win % is 33% - very low. In 19 games last season he gave 62 Y & 2 R - high Y.
Attacking stats; Wombles have 88 shots on target with 27 goals, 3rd best in division; Wycombe just 53 shots (second lowest) with 20 goals, well down on last season.
Disciplinary stats; Both teams are quite filthy, 205 fouls each, but still well behind dirty cheating nasty Mansfield on 238, still the worst in the Football League.

AnagramWatch; Phil Gibbs Dudley = Piddly Bible Gush, Glib Bushy Piddle, Hubby Leg Did Slip, Sly Pig Bib Huddle.

Absolutely love that ref watch. Not sure if it's because I'm a hungover mess this morning, but I actually laughed out loud

Not worried who the ref is for this i'm more worried that Deadman is the ref for our game at Yeovil on Tuesday. :( We should have a fully fit squad for Saturday so i'll go for us nicking it 1-0 as we're better away than at home.

Wombles 1-0 at home.
This game has nearly as many W's as Wovlerhampton Wanderers vs West BromWich Albion, hopefully Wimbledon will come out with a W in the result column.
Great news about the sale and move, just hope the new one is up for my visit in August 2017.

I think it'd do us good if the ref genuinely is a strict disciplinarian, the diving and timewasting on show from us last time at AFCW's gaff really was pathetic, all our players doing swan dives the minute Akinfenwa even gently tickled them.

Anyhoo. Think I predicted a draw here in the November thread, seems a fair shout.

image.jpeg We have recently purchased a job lot of these babies especially for this game. We thought they help the Wycombe players remain a little more upright. They did appear to be a little unsteady on their feet last season.

Scrappy niggly game. Not gonna be pretty, a game the purists will recoil at.
Home win. 1-0 or 2-1.

Reeves will be a big miss for us. Hope we go with Toonga as a straight swap and leave Meades at LB now the back 4 look settled. Low scoring draw.

Bollocks! Joe Jacobson and Marcus Bean are out injured and not expected to return until the new year, with our 2 postponed games being re-arranged for the Tuesday December 1st and 8th we could do without missing 2 important players :bang:

Probably the worst ref since we've been in the league. If there has been a worse one I can't remember him. The linesman I'm front of the Wycombe supporters was equally as bad, but that was probably because he was being shouted at by Ainsworth at every decision.

I genuinely am very suspicious over that performance, I hope there's some form of investigation into bribery. Shocking.

File along with Trevor Kettle and Andy D'Urso.

I don't like Wycombe's team which is a shame as their supporters are generally nice people and they're always a very welcoming club.

No offence like, but if he gets wise your team's antics, he'll go up in my estimation.

Like I said at the beginning of the thread, I'd have no problem at all with a ref telling our players to get the f@ck off the floor, stop whining and the occasional sending of Ainsworth to the stands might not be a bad thing either.

Not that I think we have a serious chance of promotion this season but I'd genuinely rather miss out honestly than do all this gamesmanship crap and get promoted off the back of that.

Agreed. Alas as fans there's nothing we can do about it a bit like for Stevenage when Westley was their manager. Fuck knows why Ainsworth sticks with that tactic when we have some decent players who could win games playing flowing football without all the rubbish we see. Refs are wise to it so what's the point?
