RefWatch; Ref for Wombles v Yeovil is Darren England, 29, from Wombwell in Barnsley. Second season as FL ref. Trains kids to be refs, definitely the saddest five words I've ever written. Says he became a ref to be involved in sports. No, you became a ref cos you were shit at sports. That's why, these days when I see a kid getting beaten up in a schoolyard, I immediately stop the car, sprint over & join in, cos I know the little fucker is going to grow up to be a ref. Also says he's made mistakes in his first 2 seasons but he's 'learned to swallow hard, suck it up & take it on the chin' (just like his mum).

Reffed Wombles twice in '15; 2-1 win v Accies in Jan & 2-1 win v Grecians in August, both at home. Never reffed Yeovil. Hates the scum. Never reffed them. Hates them. In 18 games this season he's given 71 Y & 5 R - both very high. Massive homer; home win % is 80%, away team have only won twice in those 18 games. So we have a ref from Womble (nearly), a massive homer with whom we always win, we're on a 4 game winning run & in the playoffs, playing our best football in years, and playing a Yeovil team in dire trouble. Oh, you teasing Football Gods, this is a fucking nailed on Glovers win, isn't it?

Yeovil have picked up recently so expecting a tough game. But if we play anything like how we have been playing for the last six games (excluding the first halves against Newport and Mansfield) then we should win.

I fancy us to get a draw here. We've definitely got some confidence back since Darren Way has been manager.

This game has away win written all over it. 1-0 Yeovil.
Now watch Wimbledon prove me wrong.

Ward will probably miss out again, which means Wimbledon are guaranteed to score at least one. Should have a decent away following as well, there's an offer on South West Trains which means it's only 15 quid return from Yeovil to London.

As MrGloverLover says we seem to be playing with more confidence, but I'm not sure we'll get anything from this - 3-2 home win.

Disappointing performance, too many players thought they just turn up and Yeovil would roll over!
We really should be beating the teams down the bottom, but yet again we come up short!

Yeah, really dissapointing performance. Particularly the second half, which grew more and more frustrating with every single blow of the refs whistle.
BTW he was most definitely right to give every single one of those Ade Azeez fouls. He blatantly kept pushing players in the back when he lost race to win the ball, the frustrating part is why he did it.
Other fouls given against us were a complete mystery though, and Yoevil players quite clearly made the most of them. Aswell as some quite shockingly blatant time wasting right under the refs nose, watching them do it, just to ignore it and tell our players to hurry up and retrieve the ball. Wtf.

Although the most frustrating part is that I didn't drink from my lucky mug in the morning, which I have done for every match on our recent run, so the loss is my fault :err:

We always get shit refs at home. I can't remember the last decent one. Against Mansfield we were so in control it didn't really matter.

Fantastic result, we're slowly starting to get some momentum. Onwards and (hopefully) upwards!

Really good day yesterday, going away to one of the form teams in the league and winning should give us confidence we can pick up points in any game. Second half we defended really well, frustrated Wimbledon, and saw out the game very professionally once we'd taken the lead - unthinkable just a few games ago.

Regardless of the result, the trip was worthwhile to see the finest collection of badges I am ever likely to see.

Terry donates some of his takings to the club. He also does badges for Wycombe, I believe, as he lives up that way. He's a Wimbledon supporter though.
