Would another athletes game be affected by controversy as much as Tiger Woods?

Ever since the whole Tiger Woods cheating scandal, he hasn't been the same golfer. Sure, he's had his good sparks now and then but all in all he hasn't been the same. Do you think is the same thing happened to another athlete (such as Ronaldo or Messi) they would be as affected as he has been? Perhaps there has been some examples in the past of that happening.

I reckon it depends on what kind of person they are. Some people who are caught cheating might feel a little remorse, but not let it affect their life. Others might be more sensitive to the damage they've caused which in turn affects their sporting performances..

Personal problems have ruined many incredibly talented athletes in the past, Tiger Woods is probably the most high profile one. Can't think of a cheating scandal, but George Best, Mike Tyson, Allen Iverson fell off a cliff professionally after personal issues. I also think Tiger's age is simply catching up to him.

it all depends on the make-up of the individual, but yeah, I'm sure a few elite athletes would crumble if they were in Tiger Woods' shoes.

Spot on - it's unbelievable how many top sportsman have had their careers wrecked / damaged through personal demons. You can add Diego Maradona to that list too.
