I'm underwhelmed because I personally don't believe that with fan ownership we can return to football league . Well , we could , but it will be extremely difficult . Good effort though

I hold out the vain and unrealistic fantasy that one day we will be majority fan owned with some external investors retaining a share in the club. Failing that we need to start investing these yearly profits into things that will make us more money .

I think it will be difficult. Our best hope is always going to be sneaking into the play offs. But what it does show is that fan ownership can work, and this is in a league where the external money you get is a lot less than in the leagues above.

I firmly believe that with a bit of patience we will make it back into the league.

1500/2 on the Braintree match going ahead today. Lump all your profit on that.

Well I guess it's a bigger stick for Wrexham to beat the Grimsby fans with when our accounts come out.

It would only be impressive if you hadn't have had decent run and 3rd Round tie in the FA Cup that season.

The Natural Order
And we got to the Trophy final of course which brought money in along the way. But then we had to go and pay Wilkin off and compo to get Mills in. We also sold Moult for a good sum of money but maybe that will be in next year's figures.

We have a budget to be reaching the playoffs so mismanagement on the football side of it is costing us as the budget, whilst not being FGR, Eastleigh, Grimsby sized is still good enough for us to be in and around the playoffs. I think if we miss out on the playoffs by a considerable margin, then Mills will be gone in the summer and he can have no complaints and nobody can criticise the board. They went out and got a manager with a proven track record in this league and still it won't have worked. Though overall I'm not sure our model will see us get promotion from this league as it stands, there's just too many teams chucking money at it with no comebacks on them. Or maybe we will have to wait until the natural order is restored and the likes of Grimsby are up and replaced with historical tin potters.

Massive news...

Im assuming you are being sarcastic.

Given how many teams in this league operate at a huge loss I think it is pretty big news.

Even if it's driven by cup income and/or player sales it's a good step in the right direction.

It also brings to mind how strange it is that only fan owned clubs are allowed to make a profit or owners would be abused for "having no ambition" or the like.

Still in No One Can Have An Opinion Mode, then?

Earning a profit is commendable. It's the sort of good news that can build Positive Momentum™ ahead of, say, a promotion season.

In my own personal opinion I feel we can only call fan ownership a success if we get promoted . If we have another 5 years of making small profits in the midtable of the conf then it will be failing imo
