Get started nice and early on this one. Even I as an eternal pessimist have been caught up in the wave of optimism that has infected our club in the last month. I'm still expecting a tough game against a Yeovil side battling to avoid successive relegations, but we've beaten them twice this season when playing like a shadow of our current selves.

The number of players in top form at the moment is great to see, I'm going 2-1 Gills, Bradley and Cody with the goals.

On a side note, are any other Gills taking up the chance to watch our sort of namesakes Gillingham Town before the Yeovil game? If you didn't know, they play in the Western League Premier and have moved their kick-off time to 12pm specifically to attract some passing Gills fans on their way to Huish Park. I know at least five of my mates are making the slight detour.

it would be typical gills to lose this game.

Expecting a tough game, but if we play like we have of late I think we will win

Yeovil 0-2 gills

A 'local' game for me, may go to the other Gillingham game as well, though train times are a bit tight

I remember a few years ago we were on a 6 match winning run, with the opportunity to equal a club record of 7 away at Yeovil. We went ahead early (Tommy Black) and looked comfortable and on course for the 7th in a row, before Phil Jevons dived for a penalty and got Brent Sancho sent off. We then totally capitulated and went 4-1 down, before scoring a couple late on to make it 4-3.

Not sure what the point of that story was, but I fear we could have another similar situation this time around.

That or we'll win 2-0.

I'm going down but I won't be taking in the Dorset game as I am going by train and it seems a bit of a detour.

Yeovil fans, I believe the station is a long way from the ground.

How long would it take by cab after the game as I am hoping to get the 5.30 train home. Otherwise it puts an hour on my journey, which is long enough as it is.

Cheers
.

From Yeovil Junction to the town centre is over a mile, and from the is the best part of three miles out to Huish Park. A cab back to the station could take 20-25 minutes after the game. Luckily for me the last train westbound is 18.39.

Yes, Yeovil Junction is nowhere near the town unfortunately. getting back for 5.30 might be pushing it, especially considering how bad the traffic gets around the ground after matches.

We'll lose this one and not score, 2-0 to the Gills.

I think Gills will dominate this game but only score once, and in the last few minutes the carrot crunchers will equalize.

Most city fans.... I think, find it hard to dislike a localish club like Yeovil, we save it up for a non league team in our area :box:

Btw thought we were going down this time last year,Yeovil can make it, few wins and everything changes

I see Yeovil have made a few signings leading up to this. Hopefully they'll be shit/won't gel.

Yes,but been their main problem this year, too many temporary loan players, big turnover of players.... No big nucleus of decent permanent signings, every club uses loan players to a degree, but Yeovil have gone for short term fixes and up until now, has obviously not worked for them.
Didn't GJ disband the youth setup there also ?

Yes we ditched the academy a few years back when the Football League changed the rules and it became prohibitively expensive for us to run.

Two more Swansea loanees (3 in total now), Craig Eastmond as a free agent and now Byron Webster's back. First 3 remain to be seen but Byron knows the club well so I imagine he'll fit straight back in.

With Byron back our main central defenders are 6' 3", 6' 5" & 6' 6". We also have Ben Nugent but he's only 6' 1" bless him

Are they quick? We play on the floor way more than play aerially, so if they're the standard 'big lump' style lower league defender then Cody and Marquis should have some joy.

Not the quickest but no slouches. Kieffer Moore is a striker really so is decent on the ball

Looking forward to this one tomorrow.
Where's the best place to drink before the game Yeovilites?
(Blatant attempt to get this back on thread and away from The Bristol 'hijackers').;)
