We just don't have enough. The damage was done earlier in the season with some atrocious summer buys. Unfortunately, we lost some solid loan players as January began (Dunne and Ayo). Still is trying everything but you can't polish a turd unfortunately.
Is McClure still playing for you? I did warn you he wasn't good enough for League 2 plus he's always out injured.

I think that's probably fair. Can't remember which game it was was now, but there was one at your place earlier in the season and Dagenham put in probably the worst performance I've ever seen from a Football League side. Which is an achievement. There are some players I quite like; Passley, Hoyte, Dikamona, Labadie and Jones but beyond that I there's really nothing that has stood out to me. Chambers is a personal favourite just because his end product is as bad as anything I've seen.

McClure has barely featured due to injury.

When we're bad, we're very bad.

What's damned us more is that when we've played well at home, we've still not managed to win.

Our best two home peformances of the season were against Plymouth and Northampton. Plymouth equalised with the last kick of the game and Northampton won with a worldie after we were 1 up. The biggest disappointment at home is being 3-1 up against Mansfield and losing 4-3.

Unfortunately every year, there is a relegated team that is hopeless home or away. This year it's us.

Everytime I start to feel optimistic we go a do that

I mean the penalty was never a pen more a freekick but that doesn't defend what was generally a poor performance

2 teams from 3

And maybe us vs York is Daggers are as a bad as they say they are

We're starting to improve, finally, with some firepower returning to fitness, slightly more optimistic we MIGHT have enough to actually crawl over the line but it's hard to call, we just as easily could collapse again but at least we've started to show a bit more fight.

I'd say its curtains for us. I know realistically there's 51 points left to play for or whatever it may be, but we're approaching the end of February without a home win and any side with that kind of record pretty much deserves to go down. No English league side has ever gone a whole season without a home win, so we could be record breakers!

Unless we pick up at least 6 points from the fixtures against Yeovil, County and York in the space of 10 days at the end of February/beginning of March, it's over.

Four of our last five games are :-
Home to Yeovil
Away to Stevenage
Away To York
Home to D&R

I reckon we will have some bearing on who goes/stays.

Boom! There is life in the old dog yet, we may just do this.... though if we do can we make this our last relegation scrap for a while?

No l think the unwritten rule is struggle + just about survive for 4 / 5 years or so, then succumb on the last day of the following season on goal difference, after having given false hope in about Feb.

We've definitely got a chance. The results are one thing, but what's more important is that Jackie Mac seems to have a clear plan, the players seem to understand it AND the squad we have right now is capable of implementing it. There'll be some setbacks ahead no doubt.

Hartlepool have two games in hand, one of them is us - who's the other one? Given that the game against us is at our place you've got to have us down as favourites, if the other game is tough too then you're definitely looking good for the drop. Yeovil looked good in both games against us, for me it's two of York, Dagenham and Hartlepool.

Yeovil were fucking dire against us,. so bad we've taken 6 points off them.

The other game in hand is Notts away. I'd back us to get no more than a point from them games. We're completely fucked.

I'm just gutted. Didn't deserve to lose at all but again we concede another late goal and Hignett's been left with too much to do.

Another small nail in our coffin today. Next week really is do or die for us.

Home to Yeovil.

Gulp!

Bit early to start posting the remaining games but I will anyway. We have:

Home: Northampton, Dagenham, AFC Wimbledon, Mansfield, York, Accrington Stanley, Portsmouth
Away: Bristol Rovers, Barnet, Newport, Crawley, Orient, Carlisle, Morecambe, Notts County, Oxford, Plymouth.

Basically the next month is critical for us. I'd say anything less than 12 points from our next 8 games and it's curtains. Our April and May are horrendous

Our problem seems to be, we're strong at home, weak away of late, we need to start picking up away points.

Morecambe are doing their very best to get involved here.

Hartlepool are the key team as far as we are concerned. Everyone else is picking up enough points to keep us honest except the Daggers and them. If they do pick up, including winning our game with them, then mid forties will be the targeted safety line which still leaves some work to do. We're in a similar position to 09/10 and we stayed up on the last day.

sickening to drop those 2 points against pompey yesterday especially when they went down to 10 men with 10 minutes left and we were 1-0 up.

Still we seem strong at home at the moment so you never know, pleased everybody else down here lost

Hope you do stay up mate as it's the nearest game for me. This season was the first time we finally beat you and i went to the arrow with my Yeovil supporting mate who drove me there, top set of fans i met in that pub as well.

Yesterday was the day it felt like the end. Was at the game against Mansfield and I think the 60 seconds between Curo's penalty miss and Mansfield's 3rd are the worst I've experienced watching Daggers. Sort of thing that makes you think maybe it's all coming to a close.

Too early to write us off completely, but unless we get 4 points at the very least from York and Yeovil home games in consecutive weeks...it's curtains.

The fact we've come away disappointed with a point shows how well we played and how far we've come under Way. I just really hope we can back it up with another point (or all 3 ideally) on Tuesday vs. Plymouth to take a little pressure of Saturday's match.

Still no getting away from how massive it is though, ahead of another tricky looking run of fixtures - feel Dag & Red may be gone though if they lose to us.

Your game against us is showing all the signs of being the worst game in the history of association football. You haven't won a single game at home, we have won one away. Unstoppable force versus immovable object.

We clearly are not going to beat Northampton on Tuesday so a chance for others to make up some ground.

Au Revoir Football League.

It's been fun. I know mathematically we still have a chance but sometimes you just know and the performances/team selection is not capable of making up 8 points, let along sustaining it.

I've enjoyed the last 9 years and hopefully one day we'll be back.

Another 90th minute goal conceded

EDIT: Morbid curiosity inspired me to look into our "late goal concession trick" since the start of 14/15 season, it's really very depressing.

Call it morbid curiosity but, I just went back and recorded every late (80+) goal we've conceded since the start of the 14/15 season.

14/15
Tranmere (1-1) (94th)
Doncaster (0-1) (LC) (91st)
Northampton (1-1) (90th)
Shrewsbury (0-1) (87th)
Morecambe (1-1) (94th)
Wimbledon (3-1) (81st + 91st) (FA)
Burton (1-1) (87th)
Southend (1-0) (88th)
Northampton (3-0) (89th)
Wimbledon (2-1) (90th)
Accrington (2-2) (90th)

13 points dropped, 10 games thrown away

15/16
Bradford (2-2) (LC) (94th)
Hartlepool (1-2) (81st)
Swansea (3-0) (LC) (88th)
Cambridge (2-2) (81st)
Barnet (3-1) (82nd + 90th)
Wimbledon (1-3) (85th)
Crawley (1-0) (86th)
Barnsley (2-1) (JPT) (83rd)
Portsmouth (6-0) (80th + 84th)
Accrington (1-5) (88th)
Bristol R (2-1) (91st)
Luton (2-3) (92nd)

7 points dropped, 7 games thrown away.

17 games thrown away in dying minutes in two seasons, not including ones we were already dead in.

Things are starting to look a bit better for us. We would be comfortably mid-table had it not been for Terry Butcher. We still have a tough March coming up. Our secret weapon looks to be dumping 40 tons of sand on the pitch.

You look fine now. You will soon overtake Crawley and Morecambe

Maybe ... it's all about the sand. It's our secret weapon. Seriously, I won't relax until we are mathematically safe. I have supported the County for years. We can mess anything up. Anything.
