That's something I've always wondered too. It can't be because they are really shit because then Venezuela would be part of CONCACAF also because they are historically a team who lose every game 8-0. In the last 20 years is when they've become decent.

Saw somewhere that said that the flights are cheaper. Maybe that's why?

Why aren't Suriname and Guyana in it?

Guyana had some trouble with Venezuela short after they became independent about the correct line of the border in the 70th, same for Suriname and Brazil. and as they are also more common with the caribbian culture, both decided to join them
