I've just voted in one of ours (we have about 9 different ones as each fan group tries to outdo each other) but I went with:

Player of the year - Rhys Oates
Away player of the year - Jamie Sterry
Young player of the year - Lewis Cass

Oates for me as his signing was widely slated and he's been really good. Sterry is far too good for the National League at right back and as is Cass who Newcastle will loan out to someone higher up than us next season. Liddle misses out as he hasn't played enough but would just nick POTY if he'd played more.

Who would you vote for from your club?

Nicky Featherstone as POTY for me, was a toss up between him and Oates, Oates really had his purple patch when Armstrong arrived in January and has been excellent, but Featherstone has made us tick all season, he dictates games and runs the midfield.

Lewis Cass as young player too, the kid is quality, probably one of the best loan signings we've had since Steve Harper from Newcastle back in the day.

What is an away player of the year? Best in away games? Am I being thick?

We've been so up and down that having a player consistent enough for player of the year's a bit tricky.
POTY Kyle Wootton, top scorer, played up front on his own with little support for a good chunk of the season, always put in a shift even when enduring a 12 match barren run.
Honourable mention, Dion Kelly Evans. Not always played great but never stops competing and his effort and crunching tackles get everyone up.

We don't really have a young player who's come through, only one apprentice kept on from this year's batch the younger players are in their late early twenties and pretty experienced so don't qualify.

Pura were announced last night.

Our POTY was Luke Young (second year running-first time thats happened since Gary Bennett in 1994). Largely thanks to his metronomic skill at converting penalties.

Our Young POTY was....who else....Jordan Davies.

Coincidentally thats who I voted for in each category.

Yeah I would probably go for Wootton or maybe Sam Slocombe who is just a good goalkeeper and probably the only one you could say has been pretty consistent the whole way through.

Barnet POTY: Michael Petrasso (best of a very poor bunch)
Young POTY: Sam Skeffington (only a loanee but I suspect he will join us permanently)

I dont pay enough attention to away teams to have an 'Away player of the year'.

That lad for Kings Lynn was good (and their goalkeeper to be fair), but maybe that's just because it was our most recent game.

Sam Barrett of Maidenhead and Ryan Colclough of Altrincham both looked class against us.

Young was out POTY every season he was here (and fit) but we were absolutely shite then so it's not saying much!

Our player of the year awards are on Saturday evening (we’re planning on hosting them outside so fans can attend).

For obvious reasons it’s a tough and big field this season.

I voted for Adam Randell for ours. Don't usually vote for loan players but he has been outstanding. Only 20 and here for the season from Argyle. Started off as a Jorginho type midfielder when we were battering everybody at the start of the season and just ran the game completely. Injuries then meant he moved to right back for a couple of games and then out to the right wing. Took a couple of games to adjust to the new role but now he's again regularly our best player playing out of position.

Lemonheigh-Evans and Asa Hall were both strong contenders as well.

Tough choice for us. Been a few standouts so hard to call.

I’d go the following personally:

Player of the Year: I’d have gone Earing for this one but see below. So in that case I’ll go Jake Hyde. When he’s fit there’s no denying he scores goals

Young Player of the Year: Jack Earing. Really kicked on this season and become a key player. We’ve really missed him through injury the last month or so.

Most Improved Player: Jeff King. Last season he was very much a bit part player and I don’t think anyone would have argued had he been released. This season, one of our key players and had it not been for some silly suspensions and defensive mistakes would be real shout.

Honourable mentions: Luke Summerfield and Kieran Green. Both been key players in midfield and we really missed Summerfield during his injured spell.

Those 5 definitely the standouts for us.

Similar to here really (last year definitely the case) he's never amazing but he's consistent and dependable. He's also scored 11 goals this season.

Judging from votes on our supporter’s club social media accounts Jeff King looks long odds-on to be voted our POTY and I don’t think I’d argue with that.

Absolute masterstroke from Wild converting him into a wing-back second half of last season whilst Duckworth was out and he’s improved again this year, probably the player Town look to most now in terms of creating chances or pulling a bit of magic out of thin air. We’re the first club he’s seemed to really settle at and he’s built a cracking rapport with the fans this season, so fingers crossed he’ll be here for a while.

Luke Summerfield and Jack Earing would also come close, both have been brilliant in midfield despite picking up one or two injuries each. I’d expect Earing to be playing in the EFL next season.

Would also give high praise to Kieran Green, who started for Town slowly but has become our engine in midfield, never stops running or being a general nuisance to the opposition and is equally capable of playing as a 6 or a 10. He’s still a young lad even though he looks about 45 but has become vitally important in the second half of the season.

George Carline prolly. Comes to play every week, covers more ground than anyone else on the pitch, does very little wrong. Proper right back him

Jacob Mendy Mendy as PoY

Jake Askew as YPotY

I voted Connor Smith as POTY but he’s not been seen since the Dagenham debacle so is probably gone. Mendy winning it was fair enough, think he’s the top scorer this year and I think every goal has been outside the box too.

Mark Ellis must be very close to our POTY despite being a loanee who only joined in March! Five goals from CB and also won the last gasp penalty against Sutton that was something of a turning point it seems now. And latterly has been superb in the position he was actually signed to play.

Other mentions for Dion Kelly Evans, probably just about the most consistent, and Michael Doyle and Sam Slocombe. And if Rodrigues had been in this form for another 6 weeks he’d be a shoe-in.

PotS *should* be Liam Hogan, who has been a stalwart in the side throughout the season, though I suspect it may go to Mr Rooney, who has tended to be quiet in games yet is typically the matchwinner.

As for YPotS... not sure we could even have one? Everybody who has featured regularly, even occasionally, is 24 or above. Since Jamie Stott is locked tight in Simon Wilson's dungeon, it'd probably be Will Collar.

I did think about Featherstone but voted Oates just due to the fact he's really proved people wrong this season and has a great attitude. Keeps improving as well.

Josh Rees for me, brilliant signing and wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the FL next season.

Most improved has to be Joel Nouble, couldn’t get in the team at the start of the season but by the end he’s far and away our best attacker, don’t think I’ve ever seen a player at this level beat defenders so effortlessly. Rumours that he’s going to Bolton on our forum, would be a big shame to lose him.

Was impressed with him when you guys played us, surprised at how good he was given that he's basically a journeyman. If he is going to Bolton maybe he could be the player for them that they hoped Mo Faal would be (similar styles but Faal is way below Nouble's level).

Player of the year: Toss up between Asante and Carline, but the latters consistency has been off the scale so gonna go for him

Young POTY: Jack Clarke on loan from Villa for me. Came in after a poor experience with Yeovil earlier this season, and for the first month we never saw him as Rowe said he had to get him up to speed. Since his debut he’s been absolute class and hopefully we can get him on a permanent this summer as his contracts up. Drifts past players like they’re not there and has a wand of a left peg
