I wish you lot would stop tipping us to finish so high - we're only decent when everyone expects us to struggle.

Duplicate account alert.

If you check my previous posts you’ll see that I haven’t once mentioned Ian Evatt or what brand of toothpaste he uses. Surely that’s proof enough

You do not have to explain yourself to one or two on here. I tried in my first few posts and got verbal abuse.
The are one or two, very easy to spot as they abuse everyone, like the one above. Tranmere fans and Barrow fans mainly good banter.
Pub and Beadle are just a waste of time and space ignore them and just sit back and watch me toy with them

Interesting to see how much each team has changed from last season to this one

This is one of the reasons I think Walsall are dark horses for automatics, they have a good squad that was beginning to gel and have a good manager. Gonna be interesting to see how Carlisle work out this season with almost a totally new squad.

Think we have signed 10 players now I remember a Swindon fan saying we had no room after we released our retained list lol.

Jordan Bowery
Jamie Reid
Marek Stech
Ollie Clarke
Farrend Rawson
Rollin Menayese
George Maris
Corey O'Keeffe
James Perch
Aaron O'Driscoll

Think that leaves us currently with a squad of 24 which includes four players that have come from the academy, most will go out on loan and Joe Riley who’s not to be in the squad limit due to a long term injury, plus Clarke who is only 20.

So think we around 19 in regard to the squad limit which is 22 I believe this season, after next season you can’t exclude injured players like Riley from the list I don’t think.

Interesting. I knew we’d be low on this, but I think it was needed. With the mess Steven Pressley left, it was always going to be a case of scrapping it all and starting again. A lot of it was done in January but obviously with the season ending at the start of March the new players didn’t actually play many games.

Not surprised we are top of this as all our OOC players signed and it was a case of just needing to tweak it with us hitting form in 2020...

Hopefully this means we hit the ground running.

Could never attempt to predict the league not a clue really how other sides are looking and I'm blaming COVID and our most recent season for my dwindling interest but movement at the club recently is picking it up again and I'm looking forward to the start of the season so I’ll predict us to finish 14th-16th

Port Vale and Bradford both at 16/1 to win the league could be a well good shout. Especially given how many people, myself included, are tipping Vale to win the league.

Never see a poor bookie ...Seems they are pretty confident about Bolton

I actually think Crawley will not have the best of seasons. We have lost Ollie Palmer and Panutche Camara and not replaced them. I'm not the greatest fan of either but Palmer was the only player we had who held the ball up front (the others are channel runners) and Camara's sheer running in midfield hid a lot of deficiencies.

Bolton may struggle early in the season due to a whole new squad of players but I expect them to finish in the top three. Exeter are still a good, well run team so I expect them to finally get promoted. Can't rule Cheltenham out after last season and Mansfield, Port Vale and Salfords look to have good squads. To finish the top 7 I'll go with Tranmere. Just think Bradford will miss out.

Morecambe will survive as will Barrow but I worry about Harrogate. They're playing a few home games away and I just feel league 2 may be a step too far. Will Stevenage have another season as bad as last? I think they have recruited for the National league but they will be better than last. Scunthorpe fans don't rate their chances, Oldham seem to be in trouble and Kewell will have them playing dull football which could cause its own problems and Newport seem to have gone of the boil. Then there is Southend. They seem to be a basket case and there are a few cases recently of clubs in a mess falling out of the league when their squad says they shouldn't.

Go with Harrogate and Stevenage to be relegated.

No offence meant to any of the teams. In my fantasy land teams get promoted but none are relegated.

Considering nobody has played for so long, it might help and rule out the massive overhaul of Bolton squad.

We live in hope, we've also been back in training 3 or 4 weeks longer than most others because of the overhaul.

There's always some decent money to be had on lower league bets though. It's clearly not a big deal to the bookies who are making a fair chunk their money on people backing whichever ones of Liverpool/Man City/Chelsea/Man U fail to win the title. Not enough people have a good idea of lower league football for the bookies to worry too much on whatever they lose by just putting the odds in order of percieved 'bigness' of club. They're probably swayed more by what the most popular bets than they are by how likely they think a club is to win the title, they'll look at a well supported club such as Bolton or Bradford and think 'there's a lot of fans are gonna back them to win even if we give them short odds so there's no point in giving them long odds'.

The reason there's some decent money to be had down here is only because it's so hard to predict anything, at both ends of the table. And the good money is only to had if one correctly predicts the title winners, because I don't find the 'to go up' odds to represent good value.

Even those with a very good idea of this league and the one below it often get it wrong when it comes to predicting the sides going up let alone the title winners (though tbf quite a few got Swindon correct last year thanks to the whole covid mess of course). I don't know how many times people have said Mansfield, Bradford and Exeter and all three sides are still here.

Well anyone tipping us is doing so on the ‘big club’ tag (we’re not, I know) and certainly not on our squad.

There's one certainty this year and that is Harrogate will finish above us.

Point in case, last season, Posh were 14/1 to be L1's top scorers, which was crazy (4/1 this season).

I am confident we will win the lge but would not back us at 9/2 5/1....Port Vale are the value bet at 16s
Bolton are odds against Bradford carabao cup 21/20 and are opening game 11/10 against Forest green
If i do a double on those 2 games i will get the same odds as winning the lge

a £10 double at 21/20 and 11/10 gives you £43.05
a £10 single at 9/2 gives you £55.00

Throw in a win at your place and the treble will pay more than winning the lge
