We’ve all had a ‘hunch’ about a football match and bet a few quid on the outcome. Punters tend to remember all the times their hunches were right and forget quickly when they get it wrong. That’s not to say there is anything wrong about betting with intuition. However, we live in a world of data and statistics, why not use these stats to get one over on the bookmakers?
Unless you are compiling your own spreadsheets on football stats you’ll need to know where to find this valuable information online. Don’t worry, all the sites I‘ve listed below give there stats away for free. I tell you where to find them and which ones offer the best info for various football bets.

The Adam Choi website is crammed with great footy stats, its neatly laid out and loads quickly. I use this site for check out BTTS (Both Teams To Score) stats. It’s also good for BTTS & Result. You can filter the stats by domestic league and split the stats for Home/Away by club. Visually it’s easy to understand with a clear Red / Green colour system. I usually start on this site with the ‘Fixtures’ list, it’s a quick way to identify statistically likely bets. You can filter this display to show ‘First Half Goals’ or ‘Team Corners’ etc - A great site and well worth a look.

A nice site to look at and one which has a good range of stats on under and over goals. I’m always looking for the long shots with big odds, which is why I use this site to pick my over 4.5 goals selections. Halfway down on the 4.5 goals page you find searchable table which features the current percentage rate for teams and leagues in Europe. Just look for the clubs with the highest percentage rate. Before finding this page I didn’t really pay attention to the Dutch Eredivisie, now it’s my first choice for big scoring matches. The site also has a number of free weekly predictions and tips. Under/Over punters will find this site useful.

This is a treasure trove of data. However, some sections of the site require you to pay a fee to view the information. That said, a lot of the data is free. I especially like the layout for individual club pages, on one page you can see all the stats for that club. This is also a good site for finding stats on individual players. So those who enjoy a bet in the goalscorer markets this will be a good place visit.

Not a website that normally springs to mind when thinking about football betting. Nevertheless, this is invaluable for tracking Premier League player injuries. Check out who’s not going to be playing this week with a club by club guide to injuries. Obviously, injuries to key players can have a big effect on the outcome of a match. The site also gives the expected return date for those players who are still on the treatment table. Super useful.

This site is a one stop shop solution for all your footy stats. It’s slightly more complicated to use that the sites listed above but it contains a lot more data than most. It covers all the big European domestic leagues and includes a helpful summary page for each league. From the league pages you can drill down into individual clubs.
