Not far off. I'm from just the wrong side of the M1 / A617 as far as Stags fans are concerned but i also spend a lot of time Rotherham way also. Go to Mansfield a lot for water meadows with the kid and also go to a few Stags games when i can get. I like Field Mill. One of the best views from the away end in the lower leagues too.

Mansfield ain't that bad mate. Some cracking places nearby too like Sherwood Forest / Pines, Rufford, Clumber, Hardwick, Creswell Crags etc. I even took the kid to that go karting place near Center Parcs not so long back. Amen Corner i think it's called and enjoyed that. Karting is just soooooooo NOT me. :eyes:

I know it well, I’m from Clipstone so that’s all my end of the area. Just a shame they’re letting the Spice craze take over the area!

It’s got a lot of good places around it and it’s brilliant for families to be able to get out and about in a short period of time, really fortunate. Sherwood pines is great in the summer and I always go back in the summer for the concerts they have there.

I know well the go karting track, I fractured my hand doing that when in year 8 - you’ll have to give one of us shout next time you’re about for a game or when Yeovil are in town.

I think it's a couple of weeks into the new year when we are at Field Mill. Great for me as i'll probably be skint from Christmas and therefore lucky it won't cost me anything in petrol and if i get my ticket well in advance i'll be sorted on the day! Can you still park in water meadows anyone know or have they clamped down on football fans using it yet?

Don’t come over in the car for the games so can’t say, but there’s a fair few car parks close to there cheap if you can’t access water meadows

Expecting a tough game. I think we need to play Tillson sitting just in front of the defence, and also have a wide player out there. I am expecting Mansfield to push us hard from the off, and soaking up pressure so playing on the break may be the way forward for this one. Very difficult one to call, but my optimism always comes into play so will go for a 2-1 win. Not been to Field Mill for years, but always liked the ground and the day out there.

Drive past water meadows, turn left and there’s a charity car park, it’s like £2 for 12 hours.

Haha pretty obvious from reading this that Devon Lad just looked at the stats from last season and then pretended that he was there, unfortunately for him the stats not telling the true story of the game that everyone else who was there has told.

What a plonker.

Interesting. 4 posts from The Viking on a match thread that didn't feature the Pies. I reckon Son of Cod and GTFCfish might be interested in this oddity:pond:
Whoa there Vanni, you need to slow down and put on your #handbrake and stop putting a #stain on Viking Magpie’s reputation.
He ONLY posts on Notts related threads, otherwise that would make him a bit of a hypocrite eh?

Wow! Great work Vanni

Let me get this right a Cambridge fan posting on a Mansfield vs Exeter match thread , quoting posts from a match thread last season involving the same two teams ?? Is that correct?

This literally blows my mind, do you do weekly pub quizzes at your local by any chance?

Just one question, why? :dk:

Well if you were unfortunate enough to follow county would you want to be commenting on loss, after loss, after loss. I’ll back him up, post on a thread about clubs that aren’t shit.

I know you’ve experienced plenty of non league football first hand Adam but it’s League 2 buddy , it’s pretty shit alround. Sorry to break it to you. Anyone who tells you different hasn’t seen their side play in the top 2 divisions :bye:-#stain

History means jack, we all know that.

When you’re 92nd out of 92 teams goin “oh but we were good in 1953” or something irrelevant doesn’t really mean much.

It’s cute you think it does though.

Why 1953? Why not more recent? What about say 1983?1993?2003? And 2013? Do they not count either? Lol

Do you and your fellow Stags fans just simply block our your entire past?! Did something so bad happen , that you refuse to even acknowledge it?#stain#haslam

You appear to refuse to look at the clubs history unless of course it’s games against Notts, which you seem to remember understandly all so well lol. I know us footy fans like to have selective memories but an almost blanket refusal to accept history and fact, is more than just pushing it.

It happened Adam, it’s there in black and white#stain.

Maybe we will go the same way as so many in L2 have already done but let it happen first eh?

Never forget your past, no matter how turgid and unspectacular

My last 2 posts shows I can’t be bothered wasting my time as you just ignore facts and then go round then houses stating rubbish trying to make yourself sound credible when failing.

Not worth my time.

Anyway, this thread is for a top half clash tomorrow which should be a good game, can’t tarnish it with bottom clubs

You know that’s complete bs, as we all do. You never answer any direct question, just like firing shots. When anybody comes back with a counter point, you play ultra safe and ignore it.

“History means jack, we all know that” - another classic quote from your goodself. Surely you didn’t even believe that statement as you were typing it ?!?!

Forget what happened last season or any season, none of it counts it's all about what the future holds. I wish I could forget this season to date, but facts are facts Adam#stain

Yes that is correct. I was checking out Conks's link to last year's match to see if Exeter deserved the win as Devon Lad claims or if they were indeed lucky as the Stag fans are saying.

Viking mate, this is a forum for fans of all clubs, so people are welcome to post their thoughts on matches that do not involve the club they support. If this weren't the case then there wouldn't really be a point to signing up in the first place now would it?

The thing with you is that I don't know how many times you post on match threads that do not involve the Pies - particularly on the Mansfield threads - but at the same time you've got a problem with SOC and GTFC fish posting on the Lincoln match threads :ffs:

BTW, I hate pub quizzes so the answer to your query is no :told:

I take your point, and I agree it’s a Football forum and I love this one but we can’t have it both ways. You can’t be called ‘obsessed’ for posting about other clubs (Mansfield, Vale, Lincoln and Grimsby) managers , players, posters and then people complain when I highlight some obvious blatant (slightly weird) trends exhibited by some on here. It’s a contradiction. You can’t have it both ways. If someone is gonna talk crap, I’m calling them out. If someone wants to ignore the past, or history in general I’m calling them out. What’s wrong with that? I only checked this thread Cos I thought jeez 38 replies this is a tad lively for a Stags vs Exeter game..... then I discovered why lol. Adam had a pop, which is fair enough and perfectly acceptable , I reminded him of MTFC history, he got flustered and does what’s Adam always does. Plus a stunning quote to boot.

You can’t have it both ways :lac:

Saying all that I’ve gotta ask..... Who f**king cares whether Exeter or Mansfield deserved to win a drawn last season? I wouldn’t care if I was a Exeter or Mansfield fan let alone a Cambridge fan!! Lol. Why are you looking that up? What is happening here?! Surely there is a better option for you?

Am I missing something here - Betfair odds for this match Mansfileld 4/5 and Exeter 10/3. I would have expected it to be much more even than that. ( I don't profess to be a knowledgable gambler mind!)

Never seen us dominate a game more in my life. So expect Conker and co's think they have been walking it. Mansfield look diabolical and even worse than County did last weekend. Thought they'd be promotion contenders but no chance with this performance. Come on city.

If Mansfield manage a goal now it'll be the worst day light robbery in football history. They have been absolutely shocking. Getting a little bit lucky with a few counter attacks.

Excellent win City. Sounded end to end at times and we were under the cosh at times, but we clearly created plenty of chances with Stockley hitting the post twice, plus both goals sounded very well worked.

Mansfield are a good team and threw everything at us in the 2nd half so it’s pleasing to hang on for the win. These last two results have given me confidence that we will be up there this season.

Nicky Law and Hiram Boateng both had excellent games and when they’re on form we tend to play well overall.

Expect Mansfield will be up there too, although I doubt Flitcroft is particularly well liked?
