He's been good, but not the best.

He's been excellent, but Liverpool's player of the season so far imo has been Sterling. Coutinho is having a blinder currently though.

You appear to have misspelt 'Brodge'.

He's been our player of the season... well him or Sterling so far.

For the last 2/3 months maybe, yeah, but not over the course of the season.

He's certainly been better than any of the players United have played this season.

He wants to calm down or a Euro giant will come a knocking.

You're missing the point. It's not what a player is worth, it's what a team wants to let him go, especially when he's just signed a new contract. And of course, there was a little bit of exaggeration. But if you think we'd sell Coutinho for £25m, you're mad.

I don't think you'd sell him for that, but that's what I value him at. Brendan would be asking for £40-50mil I'm sure.

He's not even in the top ten if you include defenders and goalkeepers. Most of the Chelsea squad, for example. Then the likes of Aguero, Alexis, Kane, Silva, Fonte, Clyne, De Gea, Sterling, Cazorla, Berahino, Austin, Yaya, Gylfi, and even Downing. Özil has as many combined goals and assists in half the games. Cisse probably deserves a shout, too.

He was sensational at the weekend, though. If he keeps it up, he could crack the team of the season and win a player of the month award.

Both have been as good as Coutinho over the course of this season. Coutinho was pretty poor at the start of the season, it's only the last month and a half or so that he's been one of the best players in the league. We're talking about form here, not actual ability.

Player of the month sounds about right.

£60 million, christ. Rodgers would bite someone's hand off for £35 million and he would be correct to do so.

Which player do you think we could get to replace coutinho for 35mil?

Sanchez was 35 mil. You could get a better player for that... Roberto Firmino apparently available for 20m
I don't think Firmino would be an improvement on Coutinho, and it will be too risky anyway. Even if you did get someone as good as coutinho, there is no guarantee he will fit the team as well as Coutinho has been for us. Just look at Di Maria for an example.

I don't think anyone will offer 35 million for Coutinho, and we won't sell him for cheap either.

There are a few young attacking midfielders that you could buy for around that price that have similar if not greater potential than Coutinho. De Bruyne and Isco are probably attainable in that price range, maybe even Pjanic. Pay a little more and you could compete for Gundogan, though you'd probably be beaten out by bigger clubs. All would be an upgrade on Coutinho in my view. He hasn't shown consistency throughout his career, just purple patches of form where we've seen glimpses of world class ability.

We're speaking in hypotheticals of course, I don't think Liverpool will sell Coutinho or anyone will come in for him with some monster bid, not until he proves he can perform the way he is now for an entire season. I think big clubs are far more likely to come in for Sterling, who's younger, better, more consistent and has a genuinely unique (and frightening) skill-set.

I can't see any team who'd pay near 35M for Coutinho anyway
