Isn't he a championship player, and a back up for a terrible Dutch team?

Every time I watch Smalling he either puts the ball into his own net, gets sent off, gives away a penalty or just gives a goal away generally. So error prone.

Smalling was sublime the first 6 months of the season.

He's back to his old ways now. Good luck to England.

Young to left back and Darmian to go central, actually.

Kill me now.

Brilliant from Lingard, Carrick should win it there.

Cracking finish. But isn't he 24 or something. Unsure how that can be described as 'another United youngster'

Shame for Palace as this game was there for the taking today, they've just been too deep and negative.

Palace should sack Pardew. The way they finished the season and the way they approached this final has been embarrassing. Pardew is a disgrace of a manager, massively overrated, not to mention a complete bellend.

United fortunate. Had an easy path to the final, scraped past every team they faced bar Shrewsbury and then had it made easy for them today with Palace sitting deep. Deserved winners on the day, but says a lot for how far they've fallen that they made this such hard work. Should be LVG's final game as Man U manager.

What a boring final that was, congratulations to United though saw it through in the end and what a goal from Lingard to win it. Palace fans will be gutted though considering they were 10 minutes away from winning it, switched off straight after scoring and it cost them. Rooney had a decent game in midfield but he seems to get so frustrated playing there, Southampton fans will be chuffed with the result however maybe West Ham fans a little less so.

Entertaining from the 75th minute onwards, before that it was a complete snoozefest. De Gea should've been one yard tighter to his near post for Crystal Palace's goal, but nevertheless it was a good finish from Puncheon. Good run from Rooney, looked like he'd taken it too far before he dug out an excellent cross to Mata. From then on Palace were on the backfoot and a batch of superb blocks from Papa Soaure saved them. Smalling then went and got himself sent off, Palace were on the front foot, and then Lingard let loose with a superb volley.

? Both are now confirmed in the Europa League.

West Ham have to go through all the early qualifying though don't they? I get the feeling they'd have rather avoided the Europa League to be honest.
