We've seen some of the highest activity levels on record within the last week.

I'll do an Analytics update shortly which will go a little more in depth. Just wanted to say well done to all involved.

How has the server been in terms of responsiveness at peak times for everyone?

weird that this place seems dead then

why, of that total, are there so very many guests?

and when are you going to apologise?

When are you going to leave? The chap who supposedly hates the place but still has nothing better to do with his depressing life than to frequent daily. Bless. Let me know if you'd like some help in staying away.

Edit; Recent post times would go against your theory.

Ah, charming as ever. For the record, I've never suggested I hate the place. I merely hate your stewardship of it. Do you not think that once in a while it might be nice to engage with your critics rather than suggesting they fuck off? Keep kidding yourself that people like the status quo, tho.

I'm not really here that much and - unlike some - am not reliant on it to feed a destructive gambling habit. Am therefore quite happy in that regard, but thnx for your concern.

Why is the box so dead if the forum itself is active? Off the top of my head there are maybe 6 or 7 active box members.

Because we are a forum, not a shoutbox. Frankly, the box only ever really consisted of a small clique, of which 3 or 4 have been permanently banned. Also, I'd hazard a guess that 95%+ of our active users don't use it at all... yet despite this, it has actually caused the most problems/bans because of its free-for-all nature.

Furthermore, new registrations are given the option to enable/disable the shoutbox on signup- with a warning that it may contain adult content. This is a popular feature with new members, believe it or not.

If more people are contributing to the forum sections rather the SB, this is good thing. After all, that's what we are.

If you think the shoutbox only ever consisted of a small clique, then you don't understand the meaning of the word 'clique'. And I bet you pronounce it 'click'.

Wrong on both accounts. Irrespective, any switch away from SB activity to the forum sections themselves is a positive change.

Well it wasn't a clique, because other than a couple of notable exceptions, everyone in there was pretty welcoming. Now that those people don't post in there much anymore, it's the conversation in there is usual pretty civil as well.

I completely agree with you. But there was a time when this wasn't the case, and some members (and new signups) took offence - and wanted an option to hide/disable the SB, which is why we introduced this on the registration page;

The shoutbox was brilliant for the first year or so of this forum, Back when Aberstone used to do LGQ!

I know, halcyon days... unfortunately the activity in the Shoutbox no longer justifies LGQ. Ultimately self-moderation has killed the Box with people being offended over here there and everything.

I'm happy to do an old school LGQ next Friday at 8pm if anybody is interested? Probably the wrong time but I'm open to alternatives.

I would happily send out a sitewide PM to let people know about it, to see if it can garner the same kind of activity as before.

And therein lies the problem TB. You've basically got an open goal here at least from a non-league perspective as this is one of the first searches on Google for a non-league forum but it's ridiculously antagonistic.

The shoutbox should be mod free, I appreciate people moderating the league forums but only on language, I found myself and DarkSithLord being accused of not moderating because somebody had an opinion rather than abusive language and found it completely overzealous.

I'm forever grateful to TB and Rad for picking up the slack of TFF but we need to go back to roots here.

Or in reality, you are the reason for the mass problems/bans.
