Strong rumblings around these parts that there is an American group looking to buy our club for 12 million but are just waiting to see us confirm our League One status first before proceeding. Roland Wycherley is the second longest serving chairman in the Football League after being with us since 1996 (28 years).

This is potentially huge news and summer ahead for the club as we could be backed heavily financially, something we haven’t been used to since our League Two days 10 years ago. Salop supporters will always be grateful for Roland for getting us a new stadium, debt free, millions of pounds worth of assets etc, but it’s time for him to step down now as he hasn’t got the financial clout to push the club onto the Championship.

Really hoping this comes off as as a club, we really deserve this after the dross we’ve witnessed in recent years and we just can’t seem to get out of this division so the club is stagnating a bit these days.

Another club that we should be looking at for inspiration. Shrews have really pushed on since they moved to their new stadium. Always saw them as a league two club but in recent years they've been a pretty strong league 1 club.

Can't help but think that our rickety old huge stadium is a mill stone round our neck. It must cost millions in upkeep. Surely we should look at the feasibility of a smaller, purpose built stadium on the same site, with plenty of land around the back of the Bycars, it could be a really profitable development.

The Lorne Street isn’t finished, it had seats put in for the Robbie Williams concert as it didn’t need a concourse but currently there isn’t a concourse so can’t be used for football yet.

We've got so much space around our ground on virtually all sides. Even behind the railway stand is where the club's owners business is situated, so that could be expanded on too. Yes, Burslem is a dump but a community centre with businesses, pitches, academy centre could transform us as a club and the local area. I'm at a loss as to why people value our current stadium so much. It's way too big for us, it's 75 years old, it's too open, the stands are too far away from the pitch, the pitch is too big and so we're often played off the pitch by better footballers. We're spending vast amounts of money on the stadium but it doesn't look much different than 10 years ago.

A little surprised Will Norris is in the TOTS and personally I think these things shouldn't be voted on until the end of the season because so many things can change. Abu Kamara should be in that team - Mousinho has turned him from raw potential into the most dangerous winger in the division. Norwich have an absolute gem on their hands.

If they're playing two up top I'd be picking Colby Bishop over Jamie Reid for the second striker, too. 20 goals, numerous assists and has played a key part in attacks that have resulted in goals.

John Mousinho absolutely deserves manager of the season, though. (Provided we don't absolutely fuck things up!)

On social media there have been scores of fans getting fleeced by chancers such has been the demand recently for home and away tickets, so i think most of ours will be very cautious when someone out of the blue announces they have tickets.

Our community trust is incredible, always a beacon of light whilst the club is going through various challenges it's been through down the year.

I don't know if it still stands but a few years back out of all 92 clubs, only Chelsea spent more on Community and Charity work than us. Really puts the Big Premier League clubs to shame given our resources.

The amount of Americans that are getting into the lower leagues now is getting crazy but Shrewsbury definitely sound like a good club to buy.

A few years back ESI bought Charlton for £1, made us worse, increased our debt and somehow sold us for a few million to Sandgaard. He then made us worse, increased our debt and somehow sold us at £12 mill (no ground, just a club bleeding £10m a year) to an American consortium.

To top it off, Roland Duchatelet, who bought the club a while back for £14m, still owns the stadium. Is making a fortune off it in rent and will only sell it for £50m apparently! No wonder there's so many chancers in football.

With much of the premier league ownership wrapped up (which is seen as good value in comparison to american sports teams), clubs in the lower leagues offer an an investment opportunity to improve it and sell at a good return.

I think they're just realising about promotion and relegation (post Wrexham) and understanding that in theory you could turn a non premier league team into one, or at least one able to realistically challenge entry to the top league. Taking on a Championship club comes with huge debt and losses however, and are generally given a wide berth.

Ipswich is a good example, and i think the investment company have already sold a decent percentage of ownership at a far greater margin than what they paid proportionally a few years back.

I don’t know as of yet but the bloke who’s released the info on our forum is the most ‘ITK’ Salop fan out there. Roland has publicly come out for the first time this season saying that he’s looking to sell the club too. Certainly interesting times around the corner for us!

The American's who have invested in us basically said the same.

We have Landon Donavan involved in us in a small way through the investment and he and others set up a team called San Diego Loyal back in 2018/2019, but they've effectively been forced to close and stop competing now because San Diego FC became available as an MLS Franchise - costing $500m and then a further $200m for the Stadium. Add training ground, staff, players etc etc and you basically need at least $1bn for entry level over there rather than the low £m's in the lower leagues in England.

Same in other American sports as well, our investor could only get to a minority shareholder level in MLB side San Diego Padres because of the cost.

Can't understand why if the Premier League are so bothered they don't just scrap the Carabao.
At least we pick our kids for the Pizza Cup so don't have snow issue with injuries as a result of that
