So here it is the final table with Doncaster and Sutton moving up several places after their impressive followings at the weekend. However congratulations to Wrexham aided by all their North American tourists to the UK who top the list.
We all know the list is falsified by unfair means like being in the centre of the country and therefore having more local games, clubs giving really low away allocations and having to play on Tuesday nights. So later I will come up with the ultimate willy waving table which takes into account all these unfair conditions that prevents the best travelling supporters not being near the top of this table.

Frankly the only way I can see us getting higher up the table and as a result, out of L2, is relocation. Being London based would provide access to a level of catchment we simply cannot achieve in Milton Keynes.

For me out of those followings, location and league position the away fans of the season has to be grimsby for me
Completely makes sense them taking such impressive followings. Presumably desire to leave the town for a day plays its part, which I am sure is the reason spa town Harrogate have such low followings.

As boring as it is, it's Wrexham for me. Sure, we can fling the "where were you when you were shit?" argument at them and they have been in the automatic promotion race all seaaon but regardless of that their support has been ridiculously consistent this season.

Ours is impressive for long term consistency. We average around about 1000ish give or take a couple of hundred every season, despite the fact that since 2006 our highest league finish has been 11th in L2.

Wrexham’s is impressive, but the reason i put you first is that a) wrexham have been up there all season and b) new grounds, whereas you well kinda haven’t and the grounds aren’t new. Wrexham would be 2nd though.

Bit of a defending post, but honestly there are hardly any 'foreign' fans in the away end when we go away. All tickets are bought and sold out, or as close to (except for Gillingham). Tickets are quite hard to come by if you're not on the ball when they are released. Plus, we have a full generation of fans who have never seen league football, and with all the excitement round our club, people are seeing us in grounds they have never been in.

But imo Grimsby numbers are incredible when they are dished up some god awful results. I have a lot of time for all fans who travel round the country watching 4th division football, long distance or not.

My biggest take away is 5 clubs averaging over 1000 to away games can't be too common in L2 through the years. That's incredible, and definitely shows the the post COVID boom at this level.

My previous post suggested that I would do a proper willy waving table based on away followings but trying to come up with a way of ironing out games miles away, games on Tuesday nights and games where allocations have sold out. So this list is the median average of what a club would expect to take to a game 150 miles away on a Saturday afternoon or 100 miles on a Tuesday night. Numbers in brackets is the equivalent number for last season or the last time the club was in League Two. Unfortunately I haven't got data for Wrexham from 2008.

As expected Wrexham are miles ahead but Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon need special mention as they are a lot higher in this table than the raw away attendance table. Grimsby of course show a good number and would have been higher if they weren't shite this season. The sooner Salford and Harrogate get back to non league the better.

Must mention the huge growth at Notts who have dragged themselves clear of also-rans that sit just above the tinpotters…

Of course they did spend half a season as promotion challengers before collapsing, but to be fair their numbers have held up pretty well in the second half of the season as well. Stockport numbers falling during a title winning season is somewhat surprising but they were denied a certain 3k following by Notts Police near the end of the season.

We’ll need improve to maintain our numbers - we’ve always rallied when in danger but patience is wearing thin…

Both home and away support growth has indeed been huge at Notts. But I want an upgrade on "held up pretty well in the second half of the season"!

Fantastic support both away and especially at home all season long.

As a Notts fan it's all a little confusing tbh, we shouldn't be this well supported in the 4th tier.

Hahaha. I can’t see it but sounds like some Lincolnesque behaviour is happening in this thread.

If you wanna willy wave about home attendances, speak to our underachieving friends in Bradford and start a thread, but have a bit of respect and don’t do it in here.

Awwww no need to be like that Richard, just providing an explanation as to why the oh so important away followings for my beloved Notts have jumped so high. To the away following connoisseurs on here I'd of thought you would be as surprised as anyone that Notts have been so well supported on our travels this season. Especially in the second half of the season with such poor results resulting in a disappointing 14th placed finish.

If you can't spot the obvious connection then more fool you. If you don't care, then you aren't no willy waving away support connoisseur after all.

I like away followings, I love home followings. I care :bg:

To my shame I've done just one away match this season - Newport. I've only missed one home league match at home and that was by choice - franchise at home. The guy who used my ST had a great day.

1676 tickets for Crewe all sold, only went on sale for season ticket holders without massive numbers of bonus points (I've only done 5 aways this season so didn't qualify) at 9am, gone by 10, luckily queued up this morning & got one, seems quite a few were turned away, hopefully Crewe may give us the stand behind the goal too?

I try and aim to hit around double figures in away games per season which I did manage this year.

Think I did about 15 away games in total (inc a December weekend in Blackpool that got called off late on due to us fucking up a player registration), some good away days but can't say I enjoyed the actual football too often.

In total I did around 40 I think.

Just the 46 league games for me.
Well done, great achievement. I've managed to do 43 games. Gills away was when I needed to take my father to hospital (routine op, nothing major), Crewe away as I couldn't get a ticket and FGR at home for being ill. The latter has really pissed me off as a lad I work with is mates with someone in FGR so got free tickets, went and saw my team clinch promotion, whilst I was sat at home. All the games I go to, and I was ill for the most important 1. Sucks!!

No chance, we're already selling them to home fans. Likewise I expect we will sell our away allocation of 1589 at your gaff very quickly, only went on sale to season ticket holders today, I doubt they will make general sale next Tuesday.
