What a terrible terrible night is was for betting last night and not a great way to start life on a new forum

Dover vs Wrexham over 2.5 goals at 5/6 LOST BOBBIN
Preston 8/13 LOST SAM
Liverpool - Chelsea - BTTS @ 5/6 WON Craig
Lyon 6/5 LOST Aaron-BCFC
Roma -1 @ 23/20 LOST wiinotfit
Bournemouth - Over 1.5 Team Goals at 4/5. LOST SADDLERAD
Middlesborough 4/9 WON T.A
Roda v PSV - Over 2.5 goals @7/4 WON GINOLA
Leeds v Bournemouth - over 2.5 goals @ 19/20. LOST MAGIC

Only 3 bets out of the 9 came in last night with Preston and Bournemouth performing badly against teams lower in the table than them. However lets focus on the positives Craig won the BTTS bet between Chelsea and Liverpool, Ginola won his goal bet too with PSV losing 3-2 to Roda and I managed to predict that Middlesborough would beat a disappointing Cardiff side that are woeful away from home.

Here's what the table looks like

Today's shout if we are doing one is Villareal at 1/3 to beat Getafe in the Copa Del Ray.

We can do, I'll be at work till 11pm so wont be able to set a deadline as such. feel free to do so though.

How does this work???

St. Etienne to beat Tours at 1.73 or 8/11

Just pick a selection you think will win. This can be anything. Although it can't be less than 1/4.

We'll put it in a Acca with others and hopefully win some money. If yours is the only one to lose then you'll lose 3 points. If your selection wins you'll win 3 points and move up the table :)

Done with French football now.

Saint Etienne come from 1-0 down to go 3-1 up and then concede twice to draw 3-3.

Against a team in the relegation zone in Ligue 2.

Villareal at 1/3 to beat Getafe WIN
St. Etienne to beat Tours at 1.73 or 8/11 LOSE
Barcelona HT/FT @ 21/20.LOSE

Only one win on a quiet wintery night as only Saddlerrad picks up the three points. New Boy "I'mCovCity" loses his first bet after St. Etienne lose a two goal lead to draw 3-3 (They won 5-3 AET btw ;) ) Magic carries on his fantastic form with another loss and as such stays at the bottom of the table.

Seeing as we lost yesterday's posts.

I'd prefer the table structure and point scoring to stay as it is, it seems there is already far too much emphasis on the table as it is. I'm wondering how many people actually back these accumulators?

I've been guilty on a couple of occasions myself of trying to look for value rather than a 'safe' bet but if we start increasing points for odds of evens or under etc I suspect people will start throwing big odd bets about hoping one eventually lands so they can climb the table. Not what this was about was it?

of course you can.

I said this last night but can we have all bets for Saturday in for 12pm so we can set them up before I got to work. I'm thinking I might scrap the table and group peoples bets based on what odds they place? Seem fair?

I'm happy for the table to be scrapped, as I said in an earlier post I think it's become a distraction from what's actually important - trying to win a few quid.

To be honest, I think this man has nailed it. I was regularly backing them but I think that everyone would go for the ambitious bets. That could be a separate thread maybe because the idea isn't a bad one. But the whole point was indeed to win money as a team :)

Another who has backed his own team, I think Tom went with Preston yesterday.

Always sceptical when someone chooses a bet involving their own side, their emotions are usually involved in some way or another but I will still back the acca, of course.
