The greatest man that country has ever produced. I've never seen such flagrant anti-Scottishness in my life. And from a resident of that country no less, absolutely shocking stuff.
He's no Scotsman and you'll find a lot up here with a similar view.

He's also not even Man Utd's greatest ever manager.

Remember when Dalglish had that second go at it? Every week he would claim the club was dignified. Now ignoring how undignified it is to claim how much dignity you have, he was saying so after blaming officials for poor results and everything to do with Suarez.

I miss Kenny.

Dalglish winning the league with Blackburn remains a bigger achievement than anything Rudolph did in England.

Buying your way to a single title is a bigger achievement than winning 3 in a row?

He won a league title with Blackburn. Simples.

Anyway Rudolph can stay in France and get sloshed on his jungle juice. I hope he doesn't show his disagreeable mug on these shores again.

That's the same as saying Jose Mourinho winning his first title with Chelsea is a better achievement than a treble.

I think Fergie did something unspeakable to Saltire's mother.

It's the only explanation.

With the most expensive squad in the country. I agree, simple enough.
Their team was worth £8.3 million in comparison to United's being worth £19.33. Obviously they "bought" the title in terms of spending in relation to the size of their club but it's the only way any team is really going to challenge the utterly tedious status quo.

What on earth are you talking about? Sutton and Shearer cost them £8.3 mil alone. Their squad (players who played 5 or more games) cost more to assemble than Man Yoo's. What their team was actually "worth" is debateable. Blackburn did make close to £40mil profit afte selling on their title winning squad (sold for a combined £61.175mil).

Must be tough when the most revered Scotsman in sports earned his reputation at the club you hate the most.
I remember reading an interview with Dalglish as a youngster saying Manchester United were his favourite team too. This just goes from bad to worse for our mate Salty.

Yeah, that figure was wrong. Put Cantona and Cole in (didn't feature in more than 5 games but had hefty fees and wages) and Blackburn spent less. Whether they did or not doesn't really bother me, how else is anyone going to challenge the elite with all the TV money generated by their "fans"?

I did include them, they both featured in 5 or more games, and Blackburns squad still cost more.

I agree, you need(ed) money to compete. Just found Salty's attempt at bigging up Dogleash by playing the "little old Blackburn" card a bit stupid considering, as I said, they were the most expensive side in the country.

It'd be like holding Mancini in higher esteem cos he won the title with the teeny tiny Man City for the first time in 44 years. That'd be a more valid argument tbh because Mancini is actually a good football manager.

I'd like to make it clear that this picture of the known racist Ron "Big Ron" Atkinson was done in jest. I obviously don't think he's the greatest manager in Manchester United's history. I don't even have to look up his record on wikipedia to do that. He simply isn't. Sorry. It was a joke! Imagine that!?

I imagine Saltire was referring to Matt Busby. I'm not sure. I didn't really get properly involved into the conversation, so I apologise for that.
