The strange thing with our season is that all of our losses in the National League have been at home. We're unbeaten away.

Think we’ll want him back but likely to take a place on the bench so whether he’ll want to come back is another question.
I'm very much of the opposite opinion, the fact we've got another striker in on loan tells me he's nowhere near our first-team plans any time soon. We've all got a soft spot for him, local lad and that, but he's not going to form part of a promotion-winning side, which is what we're after. It's best for him to be playing regular football, great for his confidence to be scoring goals, Halifax can offer that, we can't; it's a good time for all parties to start considering a permanent switch in January.

I'd expect a fee for him. We shouldn't be giving him away. If Halifax or someone else don't go for it, they'll have to wait until the end of the season when I presume he's out of contract. He shouldn't be loaned out any further after January either. Stay or sold permanantly.

The striker we’ve got in on loan hasn’t made any kind of impact though - admittedly he hasn’t played much but that kinda tells the story.

Bell was signed onto a new contract this summer and it was only a few months back he looked great in pre-season but then Torquay happened. Was that the final straw? I’m not too sure.

JG's always made a big thing of not impeding a player's career. At the very least a half-season loan would suit everyone

Fair enough, so if you thought Vardy was worth £50k, we'll give you 50p for him. Deal? :fl:

A fee for a National League player with 6 months left on his contract? What do you want, a flump and a packet of quavers?

No way that any fee would be higher than the wages you’ve got outstanding, so why hold him to ransom for that?

All assuming you want to let go and we want to get him

Well we'll just keep him then. There's so many games this season, he would get minutes here. The move is beneficial to us at the moment as he's gaining confidence and value at this level. It's not beneficial to us to give him away for nothing to a potential rival so it won't happen.

You do understand that if he’s with you you’re paying his wages. If he isn’t you’re not.

If you want to carry that then fair enough on your choice. As you say, we’re at the mercy of whatever you choose

Yeah, we're paying his wages and as I say, if he stayed he'd contribute to us. He'd be a decent option off the bench for us now but the decision is and was to send him out on loan to get his minutes and confidence up. It's working to everyone's benefit at the moment. Giving him away for free will not be beneficial to us.

That's a good win last night against a good Sutton side, and a streetwise performance which we have just not looked capable of in recent years. Is this... Dare I even say it.. A few rays of hope?

Having the Chester backbone in your team is obviously paying dividends

The club are finished. Relegation is virtually a certainty this season and if that happens we will never recover.

I don’t blame Beadle, he’s been made a scapegoat by TK. No manager would have succeeded in the situation he’s been put in.
We can only hope

5 new players and a new manager - we look a different team. Expect us to climb to table now but not getting carried away like some of our lot on Bobs Board.

Maidenhead got circa £20k for Jake Cassidy of all people with 6 months left on his contract, who was then released by Stevenage 6 months later. Another Graham Westley masterclass in a January transfer window!

Well no it's dangerous to think too far ahead, but honestly I can't begrudge some people getting a little excited. Hell, this is the first time in half a decade we've actually had something to cheer

No absolutely - I'm the most optimistic I have been for a long time!
